It's Friday and time for another LIMITED SUPPLY CHALLENGE!! Im your guest hostess for this week! Remember what it was like before you had a whole drawer full of ink pads? Let's see what everyone can come up with from this list. Remember that you can use any combination of things on this list, but you cannot use anything not listed below. When you upload your card to the gallery please put LSC27 in the keyword section and post a link to this thread so we can all go look. Everyone is welcome to play -even if you've never done a challenge before...please join us!!!
Inspiration for this challenge: Just got my demo kit last Friday and cant wait to play with everything!
So here is the challenge: Using one non-birthday stamp set and a non-birthday phrase or word stamp, make a birthday card. The twist? You may not use colored stamp pads. You may use Versamark, watercolor pencils, pastels or anything other than a colored stamp pad not even black.
The Supplies:
Stamps: Any non-birthday stamp set and phrase. (Word or phrase stamp does not have to be from same set as image stamps, but cannot contain the word birthday.)
Cardstock: any color or combination of colors you like.
Ink: NO colored stamp pads not even black. You may use Versamark, watercolor pencils, pastels, etc.
Accessories: ribbons, hemp, brads, paper clips, staples, tags or anything else that floats your boat
Techniques: any that do not require using stamp pads other than Versamark
OK I know I'm slow but I don't want to accidentally cheat. Can we use our Watercolor Crayons, markers, watercolor pencils, and pastels? Just no ink.....right!!!???
Oh, this is going to be hard for me. I only have the pastels - no watercolor crayons or markers. I usualy use my blender pens and ink pads to color. Hmmm. I do have versamark and ep so I guess I will see what I can come up with! I love having not a lot to work with. Thanks for the challenge!

Here's my card for the LSC27. I used Versa and pastels. I wanted to use this "Print Works" stamp set because of the sentiment and it is just which a cheery set. After watching news programs about the disaster and misery wrought by hurricane Katrina - I needed a bit of cheer.
Keeping the folks in Katrina's path in my thoughts and prayers.

You know we all can do lovely and cheery cards and such. I wonder if we couldn't also put together some cards and fun boxes et al and somehow get them to the Astrodome and other spots were some of the Katrina evacuees are being housed? Any ideas?

No ink, no ink! You might as well tell me to leave the house without lipstick or mascara. Wait I already do that, Im a mom. You have to view the card because the thumbnail looks awful, too dark. These challenges end up costing me a lot of money because I always find something else I need. Now its brushed gold, silver and copper paper. Oh well, heres my card. Thanks for taking a look.
Edit: Ok, it's Friday and I've had a glass or two of wine. I uploaded the WRONG card so sorry. Hopefully this is the right one. Yikes, no uploading and drinking for me.
Here it is. It was fun to figure out. I used two watercolor crayons and a spray bottle for mist. I also made myself use two colors I have hardly ever used in my stamping to stretch a little. Thanks for the great challenge.
Question: You said we could use markers. Is that only for coloring once the image is stamped? Or can we color the stamp before stamping? I guess I'm confused because it sounded to me like you wanted us to use VersaMark, but I don't do any embossing, yet.
I liked the ideas for this cards, not being able to use ink and all....made me get out the pastels that I haven't cracked open yet. I got them recently, but now they have been used! Hope you like it...
Here is mine still pending as of 10:50PM EST. Man, this was a tough one for me!! I had the hardest time thinking of something to do without using inkpads. Did use reinkers because it didn't say we couldn't ;) Thanks for looking and kudos to all of you that did this challenge because it definitely was a challenging challenge for me!

Well, long story short, my husband's entire family on his dad's side is in the wake of Katrina. Needless to say, things have been hard around here, and I wanted to get back to stamping yesterday, but just wasn't inspired. So, I was glad to find a challenge that inspired me to get back to it, although I'm not sure of the results LOL. Just used Versamark and non-SU Pewter EP. Here it is , thanks for letting me share!
Hmmmm....I got a notification saying my photo of my card was approved but when you click on it, there is no photo found in database. I will try again!!
Kathy
I just uploaded the picture again and it is pending approval as of 8:05 am EST.Please take a look and let me know what you think. I found this to be a tough one using no ink pads but think my results weren't too bad.
Thanks for looking and great job to all of you on your cards for this challenge!
Kathy
this was my first attempt at any of the card challenges. what fun! I really love embossing so I didn't forgoing colored ink would be a big deal but I guess it usually works its way in more than I think it does. I used the versamark to emboss and also to hold down pearlex, which I've only started using.
my submission
it still says it's waiting approval so I hope you can see it.

I have uploaded and had my card for this challenge approved twice now but if you try to look at it, it says "photo not found in database". I am so confused! I think I will try to scan and upload it again--maybe 3 times will be the charm. Any suggestions??
Kathy
This is my second attempt at this challenge. Really had to pool the old gray matter to do this challenge. Thanks for such a great idea.

It is so funny, I just got my Demo kit Wednesday of this week. I did not know a thing about Stampin Pastel and now that I have used them I think they are great. I really really loved this challenge here is my card
