Default Write Me A Memory Font Cd's?

Do alot of you use them?

My view is that there are so many font foundries on the internet and I get them for free...i almost can't justify spending the money on them.

Any advantages to them?

I bought the first one because I just loved the Farmer J font. I use it all the time. If you are a demo you can use it for the journaling in your SB pages to show. That is what I mostly use it for. I hate my own handwriting! Then you can convince customers to buy it because it is in your sample.

I love them...several of the fonts match fonts on our stamps, so it is nice to have a coordinating front and inside verse, or coordinating fonts for your scrapbook journaling and the stamped image.

I bought them both too. Took me a long time to get the first one. Like you, I had a hard time justifying it. But after I did, I realized how much I was using it. I use them all the time in my scrapbooks. When the new catty came out, my first order had the II CD on it. I think I love those fonts even more!

I don't see myself getting the CDs - I agree that you can get almost any font you want for free online!

I don't see the sense in buying something I may use or not - some of the fonts are just "not me". And I am not too particular that the font matches the alphabet set - I think as long as it is there - I consider it a success! :-)

At the Columbus regional, the comment was made during the scrapbooking session - that it is special to have handwriting from your own hand - lord forbid our day comes - but it is nice to have it in your own writing so that it becomes even more valuable to the recipient. Just a thought to consider - no matter how bad your writing is!

just a little note an having to actually pay for fonts - i.e. getting the font cd.

I LOVE getting the free fonts online, I am a total font junkie, but think about that artist who spent hours creating and tweaking and what are they getting for all their hard work.. proabably not a thing.

That in itself justifies buying the font cd (for me at least) if you are interested in it. Not only are you paying the artist, but also the demonstrator who is selling the cd. Plus I love the fonts on the cd.

just my 2 cents.

I have both CDs... and I even use Harry Paul as my font in my Yahoo Messenger... It's a very legible font. I don't think you'll find exactly these fonts anywhere else... similar, but not exact. And, as someone else already said, these were designed to match the fonts in our stamps. Nice to coordinate the inside of a card with the outside.

If you have to choose which to buy, I'd buy the font CDs over the greeting stamps... much more flexible. You can then create your own greeting and make it personal, too.

I've always wondered about the font CD's. Are they strictly just the fonts to use in your own programs or do they have their own little program with them.

Default Write Me a Memory Fonts CD

I heard thru the grapevine (Coastal Vine? ) that the first one loads all the fonts in with the fonts you already have so you have to sort thru your list to find them...but the newer CD had them grouped together...

True? False?

I have the first cd.. each font has SU before the name of the font and so they are all grouped together in your font list

Boy do I feel soooo dumb  I own the second font disc, am a demo, and never realized that the fonts coordinate with some of the stamps! Forget "Blonde Moment"...this needs to be attributed to "Blonde ERA!"
But....I DO like my font disc.

The second CD, too, lists all of the fonts with SU at the beginning, so they are really easy to find in your font list.

I like the second volume better than the first. . . Seems that almost all of the fonts except Heritage on Volume 1 were more cutesy or kidsy. And Hertage was hard to read as a body copy. But I am finding that I use Volume 2 more. I *still* have a ton of freebie fonts that I use more when I am designing! But I am glad that I bought Volume 2 anyway. :P

Strange! I have had the first CD for over a year and they are somewhat difficult to find within Word for me, they do NOT have SU name listed in front of them and are listed within all my other fonts alphabetically, just "farmer J", "kelly", etc rather than grouped together. My customers have all had the same experience, so I didn't even think there might be another way to view them. In fact, many of them don't even think the CD works properly because after they installing it they were expecting to see some separate icon for it or a list of them together, and I explained, no they are automatically plugged into your word program or whatever it is they use, and then they check and see that yes, they are in there among all there other fonts.

I wonder why others have it loaded differently? When I put them on my computer it didn't give me an option, I wish I had it the way some of you are describing!
