Does anyone know where I can get a reverse stamp? This is a blank stamp that can be used for reverse stamping. I know Michael's sold them at one time, but every time I look for it, I never can find it. I have also looked at Jo-Ann's and Hobby Lobby with no luck. Would appreciate any information. Thanks!
I found one at a Michael's in the DC area when I was there in Oct/Nov. I walked right by it at right because it had a picture of a pig (or was it a cow? it is already packed) and a reverse of it rather than a picture of a big block on the sticker side.
How does the reverse stamp work? Do you stamp on it , then turn it over to create a mirror image? I have been trying to figure out how to do that - so if you find one let us know!!

Yep, this is how it works. You ink up your "original" stamp, then stamp it on the reverse stamp. Then you stamp the reverse stamp on the paper. The image of the paper will be reverse of the original image. Clear as mud??
The reverse stamp that has been around forever, has a cow on it. One cow is facing left and the other is facing right.
I have one, but one of my kids drew all over the rubber. Not sure it will work anymore. It is way at the bottom of the misc. stamp drawer.

I have a rubber gasket sheet that I purchased at the hardware/home improvement store. You can find it in the plumbing dept. I originally picked it up to use brass stencils with my cuttlebug, but I just tested it and it works great for a reverse stamp.
I saw them at Michael's recently, within the last month. However I had ordered on one line. I'm not sure which site I made my purchase through but on the side it indicates it is from www.stampsbyimpression.com.
My SU demo showed us how to do the reverse image using just plain waxed paper.
* Stamp the image on the waxed paper.
* Leave it flat on the desk.
* Lay a piece of cardstock on top of it.
* Rub very gently.
Cool - I didn't realize CHF had one- I have always had good luck with them - they ship super fast and their CS is wicked nice too (if you order from them make sure you check out their backgrounders too!)
I just did this at my uplines house. We stamped the image on cardstock, then inked up the image again and stamped on a piece of transparency and placed it in position and rubbed. Worked great!

I used acetate for this one, and my embossing tool for rubbing it on : Anniversary Owls by Cook22 at Splitcoaststampers
I've tried using the brayer technique but it didn't work too well, I was much happier with this. I reckon, though I've never tried it, that foam should do, as I've used it for shadow stamps before.

Stamp on wax paper, flip it over and burnish over the back of the image...one cheapie reverse stamp!
Hey, Nancy, I'm curious--does the reverse image end up as crisp and clean an impression--I mean, can you tell the difference?
The only success I've had with reverse image techniques has been the transparency one that Cookiestamper showed me . . .
To make them look almost identical (notice the almost!), stamp on the wax paper first, stamp on the paper, then flip the wax paper down. The wax paper reverse image will be almost the same density as the second stamp on paper. As always...a test stamp or two helps greatly before beginning the project.
Thanks for all your helpful suggestions. I am happy to report that I found the stamp at Michael's. It took awhile to locate it, but the two cows was a big help. I appreciate all your help.
