Default How many do you have?

OK, I posted something similar in Chit Chat yesterday, about all of the fabulous ideas on this website making my wish list grow.

My question is, HOW MANY STAMP SETS DO YOU HAVE?

I have 80-some. I'm curious...do I have a long way to go to catch up with the rest of you?

Last count I *think* I had about 300 only counting SU! and not other brands. That was a while back though. I'm afraid to count again.

Wow... I never counted before! I have 235 SU! sets on the shelves. Plus I have a box of duplicates under the table that I didn't even count.. probably 15 in there. And, again, I didn't count non-SU stamps. Hmmmm... may be time to rethink any future orders. Either that, or start divesting myself of the ones I'm not using. That's really an eye-opener.

Okay ~ I have to know, are the dupes hostess sets or with that many did you order some twice??

I have 84 sets give er take. And I don't want to ever start adding up how much I've spent on those sets.

Michelle,
I have not stamped in a LONG time- since the last card I uploaded here and that was for a monthly swap so I was sort of "forced" if you will...All those sets still have not pulled me out of this rut!

I currently have 73 sets counting the ones I plan on selling in my garage sale and 1 extra HA set. I have to make all mine fit into a storage container or else something must go.

I only have about 30-35, but plan on doing something about that this year!
WOW! I couldn't imagine having 300 sets to choose from. I probably wouldn't get any stamping done, It would take me so long to pick one

Actually I'm just jealous

I just hit 100 sets. I have a few duplicates which are mainly hostess sets. Whenever I place an order, I try to make it a "workshop" so I receive the hostess benefits. I then use the hostess sets as give aways at my stamp camps which is why I have duplicates.

I just counted them. I only have 83 sets on my shelf. I'm gonna have to do something about that! I do have another 16 sets in my cabinet. These are dulplicate hostess sets and duplicate SAB sets that I use as incentives.

HMMMM...gonna have to figure out what to order next! I gal can never have too much rubber, right?

YIKES - this is a dangerous topic! When the new catty came out, I had something like 30 sets that were retiring, and still had over 100 sets that were in the new book. Not sure if I'm pleased at this, or freaked out at this! I'm going to go with pleased!

The REAL QUESTION, ladies, is:

HOW MANY NEW SETS DO YOU HAVE STACKED UP THAT STILL NEED TO BE ASSEMBLED??? (I have 7, plus another 3 to be delievered on Monday, and that is after FINALLY assembling about 5 sets on Monday!)

Another tricky question would be:

HOW MANY SETS DO YOU OWN THAT YOU HAVE ***NEVER*** USED??? I refuse to answer that one!!! So am I a "collector of stamps" or a stamping enthusiast? Or just a busy mom w/not enough time for stamping???

P.S. Don't tell my DH how much stamp sets cost! They're only like a dollar each, right?

To answer Angela's question. None ~ that aren't assembled that is. I have to do it immediately or I go nuts. I love getting a new order, it keeps my hands busy and I eat less at night when I'm bored.

None used ~ wow, holiday sets don't count, do they? I really do use most of my sets. I've been making a lot of cards lately.

Well I think I have around 160 sets, but now I wish I would not have that many, it seems like the more sets you have the less creative you are, that's at least me. I remember when I first started stamping I ahd I think 4 or 5 sets, and I came up with so many different things. But you know, stamps are a must have !!!! LOL

Oh sure! You just have to take this post in THIS direction!!!! I only have 2 sets that are unmounted. Actually more like 1 1/2...one is a double alphabet that I just mount as I need the letters!

Not including sets just recently acquired, I onle have a couple that I haven't used. Some of them are sets I received for free from my upline.

As far as cost, I have labels on all my sets that have the name, page number, catalog number, how many stamps in the set and PRICE listed on them. My DH was looking at them a couple of weeks ago and asked, "Is this what you paid for all these?" Of course, I quickly answered, "Oh no. That's the catalog price. I get them for much less than that!" He has his hobbies and I have mine. I can't help it if I spend more than he does!

so do you sell them here? on ebay? where is the best place? i have always been a hoarder, but am determined to use some old sets just once more - one a week maybe - and then sell them. sometimes too many make me feel lost - too many choices. i never get rid of words/sayings though. i usually sell on ebay - any better ideas?

Hey Marni! I ALWAYS sell my stamps here!! Ive never had a problem ( OK only one girl!) Or I put my list on the SU! website, but posting takes too long there. I listed about 75 stamps at midnite in June, and by 10 am next morning most of them were sold!! I didnt have to wait a week or so like ebay. And I got what I wanted for them!!

tandra - thanks - wow - sounds a lot easier than ebay - do you use paypal? i am not a demo, but i know lots of the people here are. do the retired sets sell, too. i know you guys don't keep those as much because you can't "show" them. thanks for the reply... i have over 100 sets, but probably really only use half of those now.

Well, I don't think I'll EVER count 'em. I'm guessing I have less than 30 SU sets, one CTMH set, three Hero Arts sets, and about 20-25 individual stamps. I am trying VERY hard not to get more - so in the last year I've sold about four sets and bought about four more.

My question? Are those with TONS of stamps (okay, anything over 100 sets might be considered a ton  ) demos? Or hobbyists?

LOL! You can expect that number to double quickly! I only had about 50 or so sets before I became a demo last year!

I feel like I have a ton of sets that I've barely used - somebody said the more you have the harder it is to create - NO KIDDING! I spend so much time looking thru to see which set to use and then I get sidetracked... you know how that goes?

I also have a ton of dupes, mainly level one hostess sets from last year and SAB sets from the last 2 years. I use those as giveaways at shows. I also have one of those big storage tubs full of sets I'm ready to unload, but can't seem to let them go. Guess I'm a stamp hoarder too!

I ***DID*** go so far as to limit myself to keeping only 1 shelf of retired sets. I thought that was pretty mature of me, but guess that doesn't do me much good if I'm still hangin' on to the big tub of sets I said I could live w/out! LOL!

And why to I keep buying more flower sets when I SWORE in spring of 2002 that I was absolutely not buying any more of these? (Think since I swore I've bought about 11 or 12 ) But hey - at only $1 each, what am I stressin' about???

The last count I got was 376 but I have gotten quite a few since then because that was prior to the new catalog and I have bought many from there already. Actually, my wish list in the new catty is now complete as well. So.........I guess I would have to guesstimate having over 400 now! They certainly keep me busy though I must admit that having so many to choose from is somewhat overwhelming at times. You gotta have them though!!! I rarely part with retired sets either as my Mom or sister or friends are often in need of them so they are nice to keep on hand. Happy Stamping ladies. I am getting ready to host a stamp camp a week from today so I must start cutting cardstock and coming up with new ideas!

I have 21, but I only attended my first SU workshop in March, and signed up as a demo in June. Glad to say, that mine are now coming out of my profits, which is why I signed up. When the man in brown comes this week, my total will go up to 27 Can't wait!

Default I had to...

Just reading this made me curious as to how many sets I own. So, I went and counted and I have 36 stamps sets in my cabinet an they are ALL SU! Ok, but here's the bad part guys, I was introduced to SU! in the middle of July and bought 1 set. Signed up August 9th to be a demo. And now I have 35 more sets??!! Where did these things come from!! LOL Good thing I'm not married yet! My boyfriend sees all of them and asks how much i spend on them...but it doesn't really matter cuz it's not his money! Whew! Lucky me! I'd be a dead woman!! LOL Oh yeah, plus the 6 sets that I have on order right now! Oh boy! And as far as how many of those are unmounted... NONE!! i love to mount my stamps as soon as I get them. I always get my orders about 6:15 or 6:30 pm, and then I stay up however long it takes me to assemble all of them! I'm such a stampin freak! It's scary! :?

Ditto!

I also agree with Doreen yvonne that the more you have the less creative you become.

I am trying to make a committment to only purchase a limited number of new sets when the next big catty comes out in July, but this theory always is trashed, oh, about May.

[quote="Kymbers_Stampin"]Okay ~ I have to know, are the dupes hostess sets or with that many did you order some twice??quote]

Most are hostess and sell-a-bration sets. There are a few that I ordered as "investments" when they retired. So far, they appear to LONG-term investments! lol In fact, my sell-a-bration sets ended up in the catalog, so now I can't even sell them! lol Oh well... someday.

As for unmounted... lots. But there is a good reason for that. I used to sit down the day my order came and mount stamps. I have a friend who used to come over to help me! But then I realized if I DO sell them, they sell better and for more money if they are unmounted. So, just made sense to leave them unmounted until I decide to use them. And, now I even mount only the stamp(s) I am using rather than the whole set. This has become an added bonus, since I am switching over to the EZ Mount system and this will be much easier with unmounted stamps.

I've never separated out my retired stamps... that may be something I can do after I convert to EZ Mount...

Default I counted

I have about 125 stamp sets (all SU), plus a drawer full of single stamps that I have bought at Hobby Lobby and elsewhere! Earlier this year I sold about 50 sets! Soooooooo... I guess I better get started on making up for that horrible loss.

All of mine are monuted, I mount them the day or day after they come in always!

Most of mine have been used. I think I have about 10 virgin sets, but I got those last week, so does that really count?

I love Stamps! I love making things!

My 4 yr old DD just asked me yesterday, Mommy, why do you have to make so many cards? Hmmmmm... well, baby because i like to.... OH Mommy. It was cute!

I refuse to answer. I've separated them into retired/current, and promised DH I would sell as many as I can...apparently so far that's none! I have several HA's I haven't used yet but just honestly haven't had time. Hope to make up for that after Regionals in 2 weeks!

Hmmm...I haven't counted in a long time. I would like to say it's under 100 SU sets, but I have a feeling it's more. I have quite a few stamps from other companies, but I rarely use them.

As far as unmounted...probably about 10 sets. I really don't like mounting them, so I mount them as I need them. I guess I have quite a few sets I just HAD to have and really didn't need  .

I probably only use about 1/2 of my sets, but I kind of rotate them. When I get new ones I use them until I'm tired of them, but eventually I see something on this site that inspires me to haul them out and use them again.

OK. You made me get off my hiney and count! I have 135 SU sets and 29 wheels. (I also have a box of non SU stamps. Didn't count them)

You would think with all these choices that I would quit day dreaming about the stamp sets that I don't have in the catalog yet!!!!
