Vickie Yeakley - Vickie Y
Hello all! I’m Vickie Yeakley also known as Vickie Y here on Splitcoaststampers. A truly WOW moment was when I received the Dirty Dozen Design Team invitation from Lydia. I’m super excited to be included as a member of this Team. Dreams really do come true!
I live in a small resort town in Indiana with my very supportive husband. We are empty nesters but enjoy visits from our children and grands! We have two daughters and their families living in the Dallas, Texas area, a son in Leesburg, Florida, and our youngest daughter and her family live about 5 minutes from us. I’m a two-time breast cancer survivor. While going through several surgeries, radiation, and chemotherapy my husband was my rock along with my faith and family.
I’m retired from public secondary education serving 25 years as a Grant Administrator for eleven school districts. I was responsible for writing grants, tracking federal and state grant funds and securing per student funding from the Indiana Department of Education for each of the eleven school districts.
My love of crafting and cardmaking started after attending a Stampin’ Up party which then led to becoming a demonstrator for ten years. I’m no longer a demonstrator but I still love the company and its product. My favorite crafting tools are dies and ribbon, not to mention inks, paper, stamps…guess I should just say anything that goes with paper crafting and cardmaking are favorites! I consider myself an eclectic crafter leaning more towards the CAS style.
When I’m not in my craft studio you’ll find me watching K-drama (aka Korean Drama) on Netflix and other streaming companies that offer these series and films! I particularly enjoy the Korean series that are based on historical events.
I have learned so much about paper crafting after becoming a member of Splitcoaststampers in June of 2004. Another WOW moment was being honored as the Featured Stamper #493!
I look forward to the next six months sharing my creations as part of the Dirty Dozen Design Team.
