Valerie Stangle - 11Valerie11
How exciting to be asked to become a part of the DDD team! It is such a thrill to be associated with, and inspired by, such a phenomenal group of artists!
I'm Valerie Stangle, aka 11Valerie11, and I was born 43 years ago in San Diego. I haven't strayed very far since I moved out so long ago. Santee is a little community in San Diego County that had more than its 15 minutes of fame a few years ago. I am happily married to the best man in the world for me. Jay and I have been married for 13 years, but actually met when we were in the 7th grade, never to date or be anything but friends all through our school years. We got reacquainted with each other at a mutual friend's party when we were 29. We married one year later and have been cruising the happily married road ever since. We are blessed to have 2 beautiful, healthy, and talented children of our very own, our daughter Morgan, is almost 12, and our son, Brett, is 7. I also have a son from a previous marriage, Kyle, just shy of 20, who recently moved out on his own. I've been fortunate to be able to be a SAHM for just over 12 years; we decided that my being home was more important for us, for our children, and for our family.
I have been creative for as long as I can remember, and come from a pretty creative family. After trying many different things over the years, I finally found the perfect fit for me when I discovered rubber stamping at a Stampin' Up party in 2002. I had no idea what Stampin’ Up! was all about, and had never even heard of the company. Boy, I had been missing something really great! Shortly after I became a demo, and have gone from fitting everything in a small plastic tote to having my own stamping area built, plus invading all the extra closet space I can find with all the fabulous sets and supplies I just have to have! There are so many things I love about Stampin Up!, however, one of the biggest thrills for me is when others discover that they, too, can create art with rubber stamps and ink! I also enjoy knowing that when I make a card or gift for someone, a little piece of me is woven throughout the project, and is a gift from my heart. (I know, pretty mushy, but it's true!!)
I stumbled upon SCS sometime during late spring of 2004. I really can't remember when, but I lurked around as a guest for a bit and came on board in October 2004. My screen name, for those who wonder is just my name sandwiched between my birthday month and day. Not terribly creative, but it works. I have been totally addicted to Splitcoast ever since I was brave enough to upload my first card and post my first comment. The kindness here is phenomenal and the talent incredible! I recently attended the SCS SoCal Stamp Mania II on April 9th, we had a blast and what a great group of women!! It was so much fun to have the opportunity to meet some of the names I see everyday! I can't imagine my daily life without SCS! Thanks so much, to all of you, for allowing me to share a little bit of me with you.
