The day Lydia called me, I was driving home from breakfast with a friend. I thought Lydia was calling about a SCS event. During her explanation of the event, she paused, and said she was not really calling for that reason, but to invite me to be a part of the Dirty Dozen…I screamed with disbelief and all I could do was to keep following cars in front of me as I continued to talk in total shock with her. I wound up getting totally lost, but eventually found my way home after I hung up the phone with her(so funny and cool how my unchartered journey home took me past my favorite soft serve ice cream stand…I just HAD to have a celebratory cone☺!!) How thrilled and honored I am to have been asked to join the ranks of the so many talented artists in this special group☺!!
I am originally from Buffalo, New York, now calling Chesapeake Virginia my home, having lived here for the last 22 years. I have been married to the love of my life, David, for 29 years and have 3 amazing children, Hannah, Emma and Noah. I began stamping when my children were little, but with children and dwindling time for cardmaking, I gave it up over ten years ago, giving all my stamps and “stuff” away.
My youngest child, Noah, now 18, was struck by lightning when he was 11 years old while in our backyard. His heart stopped and as a result, his brain was injured. My “baby” requires my love and attention round the clock, which is how my passion for card making was reignited. Four years ago, my then 18 year old daughter, Emma, was invited to a Stampin Up party by a friend and came home with 3 amazing cards! I was in love, again, and in a bigger way than the first time…and have been ever since!! Card making has been such a huge blessing in my life…my creative outlet that brings me much happiness!!
Splitcoaststampers was the first place I found during my computer search when I started card making four years ago, to find like-minded crafters, and I instantly joined…I was so inspired by all the artists, cards, and challenges! I uploaded my first card one month after joining, became a Fan Club Member, found my style(clean and simple) and the rest, as they say is history!
Splitcoaststampers and those who belong to this wonderful community, gave me the confidence and courage to start my own blog, which then gave me the wonderful opportunities to have been a part of the CAS-ual Fridays design team and most recently join the amazing Simon Says Stamp team…how very blessed I have been throughout these last 4 years!! And it all started with Splitcoaststampers!! I am so very thankful and honored to be a part of the Dirt Pile, thank you, Lydia…the first month’s theme has already been a blast… what a fun six months this is going to be☺!!
