Kathy Jones - Wattle
Brisbane, Australia
Hello from Brisbane, Australia! I was so excited to hear from Lydia and hear I was invited to be part of the Dirty Dozen!! I couldn't believe I was going to join such an amazing, talented group of women who I have looked up to and admired for such a long time!!

After stalking for a year, I finally joined Splitcoaststampers in July 2007 (wow - is that really almost 6yrs ago!?), during a time in my life when I had very small children and felt I was losing touch with the outside world and needing to connect with others who shared my love of paper and ink! I chose the name 'Wattle' for my username - the Golden Wattle is the national floral emblem for Australia. I think it was thanks to the networking at Splitcoaststampers through challenges that helped me keep my sanity during those days at home with the little ones and a lack of adult conversation! I loved the Featured Stamper challenge and I was thrilled to be announced as the Featured Stamper in 2009 which was a huge highlight of my papercrafting life! It is through the inspiration and the challenges that has helped me to explore outside my comfort zone and helped me grow as a cardmaker!

Today in 2013, I have been married for 12yrs to a very patient man who understands my love of all things crafty and even tries to understand what on earth I'm talking about! LOL!! We have three beautiful kids who this year are 11yrs, 8yrs and 6yrs old. We live in the Western Suburbs of Brisbane and between work (I work 4 - 5 days a week), kids' school homework, assignments, several types of sport and of course cardmaking, life in our house is busy....very busy!

Over the years I've been very blessed to work with some amazing companies such as JustRite Papercraft, Flourishes LLC and Our Daily Bread Designs. In 2010 I was also incredibly blessed to be trained by Marianne Walker and Lori Craig as one of the Copic Regional Instructors here in Australia! I've also had many projects published in Simply Cards and Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft magazines over the last couple of years.

Like so many I also have a blog, which I've called Inspired to Stamp that began way back in November 2008 where my very first post was a simple statement: Well, I've finally done it --- I've leapt off and joined the Blog world. Can't guarantee how it will go, but I'm sure it will be an interesting ride!! smile
Who could have possibly known what a wild and wonderful ride it was going to be!!

And now, yet another turn on the ride has landed me here and I can't believe I can say I'm a Dirty Girl!!! I want to say a big THANK YOU to Lydia for this privilege and the DD girls for such a warm welcome and I look forward to upcoming themes and challenges and sharing with the Dirty Dozen along with this amazing papercrafting community!!
