Jeanette Cloyd - Forest Ranger
Hello Everyone. My name is Jeanette, otherwise known as Forest Ranger here on Splitcoaststampers. I don't think I've stopped smiling since the initial surprise of receiving Lydia's PM with the invite to join the Dirty Dozen. What an honor! I'm humbled, excited, delighted, and a wee bit nervous. I'm also happy to report that the bruises on my arms are fading. (I had to keep pinching myself to see if I really had heard from Lydia, or if it was just a dream.) Believe me when I say, this is my dream come true! WOW!
I joined SCS in 2008, shortly after I discovered Stampin' UP! and rubber stamping. It didn't take me long to get immersed in card swaps, chatting (Sheesh! Have you seen my SCS post count?), and more. Years later I started participating in challenges and things like Falliday Fest, Dare to Get Dirty, and VSN.
I do have a few other hobbies, too. I know. Shocking, isn't it? When one has paper-crafting, what other hobby is needed? However, I do love to travel and look forward to being able to do that again post-pandemic. I've had the opportunity to visit all 50 of the United States and ten countries. I've always wanted to visit Italy, but have not been able to do that yet. Who knows? Maybe someday I'll make it.
Here are a few other random things about me. My crockpot is my most-used kitchen gadget... because it basically does the cooking for me which leaves me more time for card-making. The dust rag is probably my least-used household item. A bit of dust doesn't bother me, but disorganization does. Yes, I am one of those people who cleans up after every card I make. Everything in its place is my motto. I'm sure God has a sense of humor though, because my husband of 38 years doesn't have the word organized in his vocabulary.
My husband was a pastor when we met so we've been in ministry our entire married life. He currently serves as the director of an association of 25 churches and I serve as the part-time administrative assistant. We have three young adult children, two VW Jettas, one pickup truck, and a whole lot of books (my husband's hobby) and rubber stamps (my hobby).
My rubber stamps and I look forward to getting inky alongside some of the best and finding inspiration regularly here on SCS, my happy place.
