Heather Gerus - justampin
Coral Springs, FL
The day I got the email from Lydia inviting me to join the Dirty Dozen, was the day after Hurricane Irma had come through Florida. I thought I must have been hit on the head by one of the palm trees we'd lost and landed in the "Dirt Pile". I reread the email and just sat there, stunned. Without a doubt, this is truly a huge honor.
I am originally from Ottawa, Canada, my husband Mike and our girls Lindsay and Alana moved to Tampa, FL in 1996 and then Sand Lake, NY in 1999. We raised our girls there, and then just over a year ago Mike and I relocated to Coral Springs, FL. We are hoping that in a few years we can truly become "snowbirds" and spend summers in Sand Lake.

Some of my friends in New York "stamped ", I didn't have a clue what that entailed but joined them on a "play date." Shortly after I went to my first Stampin' Up workshop and that was it. I wanted everything in the catalog, so I became a Stampin' Up demonstrator, and have never looked back. Around that time I found Splitcoaststampers. It took me awhile to get brave enough to join. My username, " justampin " is pronounced "just stampin". At the time I thought I was being cleaver only using the "st" once. I hadn't been stamping long when I started joining in the daily challenges along with the incredibly talented BadSherry, Clownmon, DawnL, JeanneS, Jerri Kay, and many more who have already been Dirty Girls! We called ourselves the "Stalkers" waiting impatiently for the challenges to be posted, we'd chat while we waited and I think we all felt like friends on SCS.

I credit Splitcoaststampers for not only helping me grow as a paper crafter but also for helping me become more comfortable with a camera and a computer. Although there are so many more ways to find inspiration on the internet these days, places like Pinterest, Youtube etc. There is, in my opinion, no other site that has such a wonderful community of paper crafters willing to share and help one and other .

So I am so looking forward to stamping and learning from the current and alumni Dirty Girls. Over the next six months, as I learn, I hope, I can inspire you!
