Chris Olsen - glowbug
The Dirty Dozen? Really? I still wonder if it is really real… It started with a message from Lydia regarding a question she had about my Gallery, and I was certain I had done something wrong. Never did I think she would be inviting me to be a part of the Dirty Dozen Team!!! I still can’t believe that I am going to join such an amazing and talented group of women who I have looked up to and admired for such a long time and am completely honored and humbled.
My name is Chris Olsen aka Glowbug here on SCS. I am married to my best friend for 16 years who understands my love of all things crafty. We have two beautiful girls, 14 and 11 years old, and live in Appomattox, Virginia after moving here from down state, New York, one year ago. I am a Christian and when I am not involved with church activities, homeschooling or Crafting. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, gardening, nature, and camping.
I joined SCS in 2006 after being introduced to stamping by my sister, Jeanne, a Stampin Up Demo. I love things all things crafty and especially enjoy sharing my faith, family, and my love for others through cards/papercrafting!! What started as a hobby or an outlet when my children were young and I was no longer employed as an elementary school teacher, has now become a passion. I enjoy sending or giving cards to others as encouragement or just to put a smile on their face. It is through the inspiration and the challenges at Splitcoast that has helped me to explore outside my comfort zone and helped me grow as a cardmaker! The encouragement found through others in SCS has been inspiring and I am so thankful for so many who share their cards, projects, ideas, techniques and often their hearts and faith on paper. I have met so many here that have become my very dearest of friends!!
Five years ago I joined my first design team, Our Daily Bread Designs where I have been actively involved as a designer and a challenge coordinator ever since.
Over the years I have been blessed to be a part of some amazing stamp and template companies such as Our Daily Bread Designs, Whimsy Stamps, Stamp and Create, Perfect Presentations, Your Next Stamp, and Inky Impressions as well as been a guest for others.. In 2008, I also started a blog, Twinkles Glow with Stamps
I never dreamed that my journey in crafting would take me here as a Dirty Girl at SCS!!! I want to thank Lydia for this privilege and opportunity and I look forward to all the upcoming themes and challenges and sharing with the Dirty Dozen along with this amazing papercrafting community!!
