I started uploading to my Splitcoast Gallery in 2007. At that time, I would never have imagined this “card thing” would last over a decade and morph from a spot on my dining room table to a whole craftroom that I share with my grandkids when they come over!
My name is Cathy and my Splitcoast name is corysnana1. I used the name of my oldest, and at the time, only grandson – who is now a college freshman! A few more have come along since then and they keep me busy! I live an easy 10-minute drive from downtown Minneapolis, MN. I’ve been a crafter my whole life. Despite never taking an art class in school, from sewing to basket weaving to jewelry-making, creating has always been an outlet for me.
My current card passions involve coloring (mainly with my Copics) and layered cards. The layers are one way to force myself to cut into that stack of beautiful 12 x 12 papers rather than hoard them on my shelf. Some have been there so long, they crack when I fold them!! My aspirational style is CAS cards. I love a well-made CAS card. Everything is perfectly placed. In my personal life, clean and simple spaces bring me comfort and a sense of peace. However, I am a clutter-queen and it drives my husband crazy!! Hence the aspiration – I work at it (more on cards than life)!!
I was thrilled and honored to receive Lydia’s invitation to join this talented team of Dirty Girls. Talk about being in good company, many Dirty Girl alumni have been my inspiration over the years. The invitation comes at a good time, I have let work take up a bigger space in my life and need to be back creating cards in my craft room, to bring balance to my life. So I am doubly grateful to Lydia and looking forward to hanging out with the wonderful Splitcoast Stamping Community for the next six months!
