Catherine Dimick - cdimick
Hello friends! My name is Catherine but here on Splitcoaststampers I’m known as cdimick. Had I thought about it more carefully on the day I signed up on SCS, I would have selected something more creative and original!
I live in Northern California, in the country, with my wonderful husband of 30+ years, David, and our two delightful teenage daughters. Yes, I did just say delightful teenage daughters and I had the privilege of home schooling both girls from kindergarten through 8th grade. Our oldest just started college and our youngest is a junior in high school. Two adorable pets round out the family, our oldest daughter’s sweet little dog and our youngest daughter’s cute little kitten. We are blessed.
Some of my hobbies, other than card making, include reading – which often happens when I should be sleeping – and music. I sing as well as play piano, flute, and guitar.
Like others before me, I was completely amazed to receive the email invitation from Lydia and, quite frankly, thought it had been an error and I would receive a correcting email shortly. Don’t tell, but they forgot to send that email, so here I am!
I got started stamping when I visited a college roommate and her husband. She was a Stampin’ Up demo and had all of these fun goodies at her house. I was hooked – and my hubby was sorry! Not really, he is very supportive.
I don’t know how long I was stamping before someone told me about SCS. I joined SCS in 2009 and it became my go to site for inspiration however, I generally cased all my early cards so I didn’t upload anything. In 2016, I felt I wanted to stretch my card making and start creating from scratch. I didn’t know about the SCS challenges but found the Mojo Monday challenges. My first upload, in March 2016 was based on Mojo sketch 438. From there, I started doing all sorts of challenges here on SCS and spending time in the tutorials.
For me, SCS is an immeasurable blessing both with the wonderful and supportive community as well as the wealth of learning available through the tutorials and other crafters.
SCS has taught me so much and I look forward to learning even more! I am truly honored to be a dirty girl and hope that I can be a blessing to other crafters. Thank you!
