Angie McKenzie - APMCreations
Hi y’al! I’m Angie McKenzie, aka APMCreations here on Splitcoaststampers. I was beyond thrilled to be invited by Lydia to be a part of the Dirty Dozen and have to keep pinching myself to see if this is a dream. It is such an honor to be a part of this talented group of crafters! For several years now, I have enjoyed following many of the blogs of Dirty Dozen alumni to this amazing community filled with countless inspiration and positive energy. And now to be able to give back to this community as a part of this opportunity is like a dream come true.
I grew up in the South, in the smallest county of Georgia, in the Classic City known as Athens. Married to my 10-year high school reunion sweetheart, Mark moved me several times from my roots and transplanted me to an unincorporated small community outside Toledo, Ohio, where we’ve been for almost 14 years now. Moving from big city life to small town life is how I found my love of stamping as a stay-at-home-mom after being a paralegal for 16 years.
Arts and crafts are in my blood thanks to my grandmothers and my dad…. while my mom has been my number one cheerleader though she’s not a crafter. I have been photo journaling since my early school days, scrapbooking since high school and stamping since the year our son, Colton, was born. Give me some pictures, a camera, ink, stamps, cardstock, an aqua painter, a pen and a blank journal and I can survive for months until I run out of adhesive…. throw in some nature walks or just a walk outside to breathe the fresh air and well, I am off imagining another project. I love being inspired by God’s artwork of nature! My stamping style is influenced by the world around me as I see it through my camera lens… along with my love of architecture and fabrics which dates back to my college days at the University of Georgia where I majored in Home Furnishings and Interiors.
When I’m not creating, I am a home school mom who loves to spend time with my boys in the outdoors, digging in the dirt, biking and boating. I love to walk, take pictures, bake, play with our family dog, Benji (a Shih Tzu), read Guideposts and other inspirational publications, and watch romantic/comedies (mostly Hallmark!) with my hubby. And, oh, I am an animal lover… always having one of man’s best friends by my side since childhood. So, if you ever want to know about my angel fur babies just drop me a message.
I am so looking forward to these next six months with you all.
Always remember to have a great day every day as you count your blessings!
Now it’s time to get dirty!
