Angella Crockett - angelladcrockett
Eminence, IN
Hi, everyone! My name is Angie Crockett, known here on SCS as angelladcrockett. My loving parents thought it would be neat to spell Angella with two l's, not realizing that most folks couldn't break the one "l", I go by "Angie" to make it easy!

I grew up "in the sticks" of central Indiana, at the end of a dead-end wooded lane, where our home was never locked...ahhh, the good ole days! My siblings and I played in the woods and in the creek, rode Tonka trucks down the hill, and played in the dirt with (stolen) spoons from the kitchen. I was very shy but loved school, loved to read, and loved to listen to music. I played flute and several other instruments in band from 5th to 12th grade. Music as always been a huge part of my soul. I love so many styles, from Elvis to classic rock to country to smooth jazz to classical to contemporary Christian. Even when I sleep, music on the tv will cause me to tap my toes to the beat!

My husband and I met while working at a restaurant back in the 80's. We shared the same work ethic and life principles and were friends for many years before we became a couple. We were married in May of '92...the following spring our son was born but only lived a few minutes. Though tragic, this experience strengthened our bond and also brought us closer to the Lord. Living our lives by God's principles is important to both of us so that we may be an example and blessing to others, both at work and in our personal lives.

I was not very artsy growing up, but instead fell in love with mechanical drafting in high school. With more of an analytical mindset, I loved having a problem to solve out of the parameters given (which is why I love the challenges at SCS!). Architectural drafting, however, was extremely challenging since it required imagination and I found it difficult to come up with designs of my own from scratch.

I discovered stamping nearly 20 years ago. My cousin called to invite me to a stamping party and I asked, "What in the world is stamping?" Haha, it took less than five minutes looking at a Stampin Up catalog to get me hooked for life! My hobbies of cross-stitch, gardening, and golfing were quickly put on the back burner! I discovered Splitcoast a few years later (thank the Lord!) and I was a lurker for a long while since I was such a rookie. I diligently studied other stampers' work and was shocked at how generous everyone was in sharing how their artwork was created! When I got my 1st digital camera in '08, I decided to upload and play in the challenges. I was floored by everyone's comments and encouragement. What an awesome community! It was a no-brainer to join the Fan Club so that I could experience everything!!

Since that time, I have been blessed to be a part of Our Daily Bread Designs' family, from being a card designer to doing tutorials, to being a blog writer. I was also invited to be a part of the former Christian Paper Crafts community by Cindy Coutts, where I was a designer, challenge hostess, and site moderator, all while working for ODBD, working full time at a semi-trailer dealership, and working my home-based business in which I help others with herbs, essential oils, etc.

When Lydia invited me to be a Dirty Girl, I was beyond excited!! This has been a dream of mine for over ten years! To be a part of this elite group which is chock-full of my stamping heroes is a bit surreal! Thanks to all of those who came before me and inspired me to be a better artist! I will do my best to be an ambassador for SCS!
