Amy Morris - Shirleysgirl
Hello Everyone! I am super excited to be joining the Dirty Girls in the Dirt Pile! I am honored and humbled to be part of this talented group!
I found Splitcoaststampers in 2016 with some help from my sister-in-law and have enjoyed learning and growing with so many different challenges, techniques, tutorials, and the wealth of talent encompassed within this site. This site has been so fundamental in my growth!
My paper crafting journey started through Creative Memories and scrapbooking around 1998. I have told many people that scrapbooking kept my children alive through those rough years of parenting while their father traveled for work most weeks. I could go to a crop on a Friday night after a week ready to throttle them and fall in love with them in my pages as my stress de-escalated allowing them to live another day! I still scrapbook and still love Creative Memories and am forever grateful for it! I found stamping and card making at a Stampin Up Party and dabbled in it a bit. But the love of stamping was not really set on fire until I found a MISTI! This was the game changer for me and where the stamp obsession escalated as my pocketbook crashed. My style is more hot mess with a side of snark. I like trying new things to see where it leads. I have found it usually leads to more stuff.
I live on 20 acres in Missouri with my husband. We will be married 30 years this November. We own 2 horses and have a revolving door of strays or neighbors dogs that think they all belong there. I have two sons that are 25 and 24 and gained the daughter-in-law of my dreams last October. I am recently retired and worked both as a teacher and registered nurse previously, so I am enjoying throughly all my extra time. My craft room was dubbed, Moms Playground by my boys and when not found there you can find me boating, reading, or hanging out with friends and family at our lake property. My newest passion is Pickelball, so now just need to figure out how to talk my hubby into building a court down there.
