Amanda Havon - havonfamily
Hello everyone! My name is Amanda Havon aka Havonfamily on SCS. I am a very proud Mom to two amazing girls, who are my pride and joy, living happily in Iowa.

I can't believe I was picked to join the Dirty Dozen team for some fun filled creativity! I was a Featured Stamper recently and it thrilled me to my toes!
This spring I got back into cardmaking after a 10 year long absence.
I started scrapbooking in 2006, wanting to scrapbook my daughter growing up. For a few years I enjoyed scrapping and creating some pretty pages. But I've always enjoyed coloring things in, especially the watercolor medium. So I started to buy a couple stamps in 2009 and just color them in as therapy for my soul. I started making simple cards with my newly colored in images, and I enjoyed it so much that I stopped scrapbooking altogether on focused on creating cards only.
I taught myself how to color images in with Copics and watercolors, which makes for a steep learning curve! But in 2010, I started getting better to the point where I was invited to be on the Flourishes stamps design team and I Absolutely Thrilled!! Eventually, I was asked to be on the Senior DT! Being on that DT was the best years of my life, creating and being inspired by others! At one point I was selling my cards as fast as I could make them, both online and through various holiday boutiques or Etsy.
But, life and other things happened where I wasn't able to stamp for many years. But this year I was finally able to start stamping again and I'm so much happier for it!

I love to color in any floral images with either Copics, watercolors, or watercolor markers. I love coloring almost every image in really bold, but every now and again I restrain myself. I really let my mind wander and my hands do all the work. Sometimes it works and other times it's pretty interesting! LOL! My card style is whatever I come up with. I really don't have a stamping or cardmaking style, but I like clean and not too "fussy". I really let my mood, the colored image, and patterned paper guide me. I let it bring itself together. Many times my frustration lies in not having the right patterned paper which is why my stash of papers are bigger than my stamp collection! LOL! Though, I'm ALWAYS looking for my next stamp!

I'm looking forward to being absolutely inspired by everyone and meeting some new crafting friends!
