Shattered Glass with Pearl Ex™
by Beate Johns
This version is a little different version of the shattered glass technique. It looks great on dark cardstock and makes elegant cards.
Supplies
- Black Cardstock (or other dark color)
- Pearl Ex®
- Masking Tape
- VersaMark®
- Black Ink Pad
- Acrylic Sealer (Matte)
- Stipple Brush
- Swiffer Cloth®
Step-by-Step
-
Step 1
Take your masking tape and rip it into long narrow strips. The narrower, the better. Place it on your cardstock in a random, overlapping fashion.
-
Step 2
Cover the entire surface of the cardstock with the Versamark™.
-
Step 3
Cover the entire surface of the cardstock with Pearl Ex™. I used a stipple brush and two different colors (Aztec Gold and Super Russet) in this example.
-
Step 4
Wipe off the excess Pearl Ex™ powder with a Swiffer™ Cloth (a soft cotton cloth would probably be okay, but a Swiffer gives the best result).
-
Step 5
Stamp your images over the Pearl Ex™ background with Black Ink.
-
Step 6
Spray your cardstock with an Acrylic Sealant.
-
Step 7
Remove the masking tape strips.
-
Step 8
Finish your card!
Variations
Lighten up
