by Stacy Morgan

Create a treat holder shaped like a Hershey Kiss.

Supplies

  • One 4 1/4" x 11" piece of cardstock
  • Scor-Tape™ or other strong adhesive
  • Hole Punch
  • Stampz , Flourishes Warm Winter Wishes used here
  • Silver Cord
  • Spellbinders Grand Calibur machine or other die cutting machine
  • Scissors
  • Spellbinders Classic Hearts dies

Step-by-Step

  1. Step 1

Cut and emboss two hearts out of your cardstock.

  2. Step 2

Turn both your die cut hearts over so the embossed side is facing down. Stamp your design where you desire.

  3. Step 3

Take each heart with the stamped side face down on your scoring plate. Line the heart center on the score valley. Your heart curves should line up evenly along the right side as shown for an even score on both hearts. Score down your hearts.

  4. Step 4

Turn your hearts stamped side up and only add adhesive to one hearts curves.

  5. Step 5

Adhere your hearts together, matching the curved edges to the scored line.

  6. Step 6

Turn hearts over and you should see a fairly even diamond in the middle.

  7. Step 7

Taking both of the tips on your heart and lining them up even, punch a hole in the top.

  8. Step 8

Take a punched tag and place it over the hole so you can attach the top with your cord.

  9. Step 9

Run the cord through the hole and tie off to secure. Embellish ad desired.

  10. Slip a small treat inside the holder.

Love this project. Could you tell me the size of the hearts you used. I do not have that die, but could cut them on my Cricut. Thanks.

Hi Katherine and Debby. The heart is a 4 inch by 4 1/4 inch heart. 4 inches from the point to the top. Then from the sides 4 1/4 inch. I measured the sides from the rounded edge to the other. Can't wait to seewhat you create.

Great project, I do have one question what is the name brand of the adhesive that you use, I really like that you can just tear it off and use it.

Linda,
I love that tape and use it all the time. It's called Scor-Tape. You can purchase it in many online stores or directly from Scor-Pal.com.

I was wondering how you got the diamond pattern on the heart shapes without it going to the edges. Thanks.
Nana Griffin  |  Wed Nov 26, 2014 at 9:23 AM
Hi Nana, When you score the Round top of the heart, the diamond will form when you start to over lay the edges to adhere them together. Depending on what heart shape you use or hand draw it might not fully reach edge to edge. Does that help?
