This version is a little different version of the shattered glass technique. It looks great on dark cardstock and makes elegant cards.
Black Cardstock (or other dark color)
Pearl Ex®
Masking Tape
VersaMark®
Black Ink Pad
Acrylic Sealer (Matte)
Stipple Brush
Swiffer Cloth® [ buy it ]
Step 1.
Take your masking tape and rip it into long narrow strips. The narrower, the better. Place it on your cardstock in a random, overlapping fashion.
Step 2.
Cover the entire surface of the cardstock with the Versamark.
Step 3
Cover the entire surface of the cardstock with Pearl Ex. I used a stipple brush and two different colors (Aztec Gold and Super Russet) in this example.
Step 4.
Wipe off the excess Pearl Ex powder with a Swiffer Cloth (a soft cotton cloth would probably be okay, but a Swiffer gives the best result).
Step 5.
Stamp your images over the Pearl Ex background with Black Ink.
Step 6.
Spray your cardstock with an acrylic Sealant.
Step 7.
Remove the masking tape strips.
Step 8.
Finish your card!
