Rainbow Craft

by Beate Johns

Stamp an image with bleach and reveal a colorful background.

Supplies

image

Two or more pigment inks

Darker dye ink

Brayer

Household bleach

Sponge brush or disposable plate with paper towel

Sponges

Neutral cardstock

Stamp

Step By Step

Step 1

Step 1.
Apply one color of pigment ink with a sponge (here, Certainly Celery).

Step 2

Step 2.
Apply the next color of pigment ink (here, Lavender Lace). Make sure the entire piece of cardstock is covered. Let dry, or use a heat tool to set the ink.

Step 3

Step 3.
Apply darker dye ink over entire cardstock with a brayer.

Eggplant Envy was used here, as Basic Black does not work. Apply several coats to cover all color. Let dry again.

Step 4

Step 4.
Apply bleach to the stamp with a foam brush.

Tip: A makeshift bleach pad can be made by folding a paper towel and placing it on a disposable plate. Add a little bit of bleach, and use that to apply bleach to the stamp.

Step 6

Step 5.
Stamp the bleached image on the brayered cardstock.

Step 6

Step 6.
Let dry and finish the project.
