The Top Dog Dies product line includes more than 90 dies with new dies each month. Not sure where to get started? Look for combination sets that include coordinating steel-rule and wafer-thin dies for easy-to-make cards, albums and giftable projects.
The Top Dog Dies wafer-thin dies – also known as chemically etched dies – come in a variety of intricate shapes and can cut through cardstock, vellum, paper and other thin materials “like butter.” They are compatible with a variety of today's popular die-cutting machines. Be sure to use a stainless steel adapter in the Cuttlebug and Sizzix Big Shot machines when using wafer-thin dies with intricate designs.
The steel-rule wood dies are the heavy-hitters: They cut through a variety of materials – chipboard, cardstock, shrink plastic and thin metals … anything you can cut with scissors. They’re the perfect choice to cut out album shapes, covers and cards. See the website for machine compatibility information.
Top Dog Dies are Dog-Gone-Great!

My first impression of the Top Dog Dies was how much variety that they offer in the store. They have shapes, nature, holidays, and euphoria images; just to name a few. The second thing I noticed was the quality of the dies, both the wafer-thin and the steel-rule are of superb craftsmanship. Thirdly, they sparked a fancy to create some amazingly gorgeous cards. I paired them with other stamps, embellishments, and ribbons to bring forth a whole lotta creating goodness!
I also want to tell of the "must have"... metal shim or adapter plate. This will make life much easier, I was truly amazed at the difference this made. Tiny intricate cuts are no match for this shim, they came out with ease. It really is a "must have".
My overall experience with Top Dog Dies was marvelous! From entering the online shop, shipping, my first look, and more importantly putting them to use; it was a blast! Top Dog Dies is worth shopping over and over again....down right dog-gone-great!
Top of the Line Dies!

I've never worked with steel-rule dies before, so I was really surprised at how large they were and the thick, solid structure of them. The dies worked perfectly with my Cuttlebug machine and cut all weights of paper cleanly with one pass through the machine. I used the mixed media tag for a couple of tag projects. It a pretty large tag, so if you are using it for mixed media art, you'll have lots of room to play with different mediums. The other steel-rule die I tried was the Bird Cage Album... Loved it! I ended up using it for a variety of cards and albums from baby to birthday, it was so much fun to use! To coordinate with the bird cage album I picked the album finisher, with 2 birds and a bottom for the cage. These little birds are super cute and can be used for lots more projects. I especially love them cut out of designer paper!
I also loved working with the Vintage Alphabet Die. The size of the letters was perfect for cardmaking, I had no trouble getting longer words to fit on my cards. Plus the die doesn't require much paper to cut out an alphabet, two cuts give you plenty of letters to work with for most sentiments.
All the dies I used from Top Dog Dies were of fantastic quality and cut through paper quickly and easily. They have amazing selection to choose from, so I know I'll be stopping back for more.
Top of the Class

You don't have to be a crafter for very long before you find out about dies and how they can take your cards and projects to the next level! I was pleased to hear we were going to try out products from Top Dog Dies. They have a really darling collection of dies and I couldn't wait to play! I was drawn to two of their sets right away because I knew without a doubt I would use the designs. I tried out the Mason Jar Album and Finishers set, as well as the Diaper Card and Finishers set.
The larger designs for the sets (Mason Jar, and Diaper Card base) come in the steel-rule, and I think that's a smart thing. I've tried some larger dies in wafer-thin format only to have them cut crookedly because of the pressure of the machine rolling them through. Not so with these. Perfect cuts!
The Finishers sets for both the Mason Jar die and the Diaper Card die are in the wafer-thin die format and that is excellent too because of the smaller pieces. The designs fit the Mason Jar and the Diaper Card just right. I can jellies and sauces during the summer, and I will be using the Mason Jar die for all sorts of gift giving. The Finishers set for the Mason Jar dies take all the work out of decorating the jar. You can change the lid color and the label and even make a cute banner on it. They've thought of everything! The creative ideas I have to use that jar just make my head spin a little.
When I cut out the Diaper Card for the first time I squealed and hugged it to myself. It's so adorable. A wittle teeny diaper! Gah! It's so cute. I love that the Finishers set includes both a "congrats" sentiment and a "thank you" sentiment. You can easily make a bunch of the diaper cards up as a shower gift for Thank You cards, and I plan on doing just that for a friend who is expecting. She will be delighted! And of course you can use the "Congrats" sentiment on a card you are giving and customize the colors and details very easily while cutting out the dies. They really can't make this any easier.
The cuts on these dies are clean. The designs are sweet but also very classic so you'll be able to use them for a long time! There are nice details in the dies too and I recommend that you run them through your machine with a creasing pad to get the maximum effect (pierced edging and detailed indentions). Doing that will kick-up the wow factor in your projects.
I will be highly recommending Top Dog Dies to my crafty friends. They are excellent tools that make you look good (with very little effort). My favorite combination!
