Pocket Letters™ are a crafting craze. One sends a letter to a friend or a new pen pal using a 9 pocket vinyl trading card protector. The pockets are filled with paper crafting ephemera like ribbons, tags, brads, buttons, washi tape or pieces of pocket art you want to share. Fold the protector into thirds, wrap in tissue and put into an envelope. Your swap recipient will be very excited as they wait for a PocketLetter made especially by you!
PocketPenPals from Scor-Dies make creating the pocket cards easy with a series of specifically sized trading card and envelope dies. PocketPenPals follow a traditional sizing of Artists Trading Cards, 2.5" by 3.5", and that makes them a versatile element for Pocket Letters, ATCs, card design elements, gift card enclosures and scrapbook page accents.
PocketPenPals are high quality, thin metal cutting dies - 100% steel. They work in most major brands of die cutting machines and cut paper, fabric and more.
There are intricate designs in the PocketPenPals collection. They are pretty to look at and work with, and following Splitcoaststampers' tutorial tips in Cutting with Detailed Dies will help you achieve beautiful results with ease.

Edges and Borders for ATCs
By Robin Clendenning
I really enjoyed the Scor-Dies by Scor-Pal. First, I found them very easy to use. The cut lines and score lines provided an instant envelope or ATC size card or card element. I love the variation of edges and borders for the ATC card dies in each packet of dies. These make great card bases, or you can use them to give, trade or keep buttons, brads, ribbon, and etc. The die cut cards are designed to hold these things and even include the die cut name of each when you've finished your cuts. .
My favorite project that I created was my Halloween book! I used brightly colored Halloween papers and cut one of each ATC card die for pages and 2 plain rectangular ATCs for the cover! I just sewed them together at the end and scored each page just inside the sewn edge to create my book. Decorating the pages was quick and fun.
Great dies for easy gift giving or supply swapping fun!
Taken with the Adorable Size
By Teresa Kline
Let's talk about the Scor-Pal brand and their products: quality and usability! Scor-Pal is well known for great scoring products, tapes, and glues, and now dies!
At first glance I was taken with the adorable size of the PocketPenPal dies...sized for Artist Trading Cards. This is probably my favorite aspect of them, they are perfect for the card maker. They are designed so that you will create, share and trade, but you have several options for using them. Use them to add embellishments, your favorite buttons, pins, or brads. You can create darling note cards and coordinating envelopes for gift giving. These would make a perfect little thank you note gift set. I loved how the pockets inserts can be added to cards, layering and tilting them for the cutest main focal points.
If you are looking for a fun way to grow your creative circle, join or start a pocket pen pal trading group and meet more people in this amazing industry.
I had so much fun designing with the PocketPenPals.
Scor-Dies Scored a Perfect 10
By Lee Murphy
Scor-Dies scored a perfect 10 for me with these PocketPenPals! Not that I expected anything less from the fabulous Diana, creator of Scor-Pal! Projects made with these dies are such a creative and adorable way to brighten a friend's day! The dies go hand in hand with Pocket Letters which is a concept of sending along small tokens, crafty gifts or notes, and I found them the perfect size for holding gift cards. They're designed to fit into 9 pocket vinyl page sleeves like trading cards, only full of artsy, craftsy goodness. But, they also make the perfect little pockets to design gift card holders for any occasion.
The dies themselves are wafer thin plates, designed to be used in all of the popular cutting machines. They cut beautifully. (Remember, every machine is different, and you may need a shim for cutting through heavier cardstock in yours.). They cut easily through thinner cardstock and desiger paper. These pretty dies are perfect for a themed swap, a holiday gift or even ATC collecting. With 9 different designs plus a tiny bonus envelope, you can mix and match to your heart's content! I loved these little cuties, and they'll get tons of use making a simple something to send along a tiny crafty hug! I see many possibilities with this first series of Scor-Dies that I can't wait to see the next series of dies from Scor-Pal!
Delighted with the Different Options
By Angela Bode
I enjoy adding dimension to my paper projects with the help of die cuts, so I was eager to try out Scor-Dies from Scor-Pal! The die cuts are so versatile that it was very easy to use them on a variety of projects.
The die sets included in Basics A, B and C, are designed to fit perfectly in 9 pocket vinyl trading card folders. The folder can then be filled with all sorts of goodies and given away to friends. I used all of the dies to create a fun birthday Pocket Letter for a friend, the ultimate way to give a RAK! Besides the Pocket Letter, I also created a pretty bordered note card set that fits perfectly into a coordinating fun fold envie. I also added layers to cards and ATCs with the cute notions cards and pocket inserts.
I am delighted with all the different ways I can use these dies and I honestly can't wait to create more projects with them.
Tip: I used heavy cardstock for my projects so I found it helpful to run the die through once then turn the die 45 degrees and run it through again for a clean cut.
Pockets of Creativity
By Jen Timko
Leave it to Scor-Pal to help make a new trend even more fun! 'Pocket Letters’ are a great concept created to let friends share their creative products in a clever way. With the new PocketPenPals Scor-Dies, cutting out these adorable little cards just became easier. But even better, they can be used beyond the original concept for all kinds of projects.
My first impression came when I rolled these dies through my Big Shot. Even though some of the designs have intricate borders, the pieces popped right out and I was able to get right to creating. Love that! Then I realized how beautifully these work as stand alone cards AND right alongside other products you may have. Using the Basics Package A, I created a pocket-style scrapbook page that really came together quickly. The scalloped card die and the little envelope were such fun and make the page so much more special!
Being primarily a card maker, I appreciate the flexibility these add to your collection. I was able to use the cards I cut as tag elements and as layering for a note card. And then there is the actual note card and envelope in Basics Package C! This may be my favorite of all! In fact, after creating the little card/envelope combination for this review, I immediately made two more for thank you notes I needed that day. This will be one I reach for over and over!
Scor-Pal has a reputation for knowing what a crafter loves! These dies are a clear cut answer to making it easy to share your creativity!
