Product Description

Manufacturer Description

Iliana Myska has been paper crafting since 2001. She initially started card-making when she was asked to serve on a women’s ministry. By agreeing to be in charge of the card ministry, Iliana began a new journey. Using her scrapbooking supplies to embellish pre-made card bases, her addiction to crafting grew into stamping.

While making one hundred Christmas cards for her church, Iliana became frustrated with errors and inconsistencies while stamping. After her failed attempt to Washi tape a stamp press to a mouse pad, an idea occurred. Several trips to the hardware store and MISTI™ - most incredible stamp tool invented - was born.

Product Description

MISTI's simple hinged design provides consistent stamping results for the novice or experienced crafter. This tool accommodates rubber cling mount or clear stamps. A foam mat is included with the MISTI to raise the cardstock when using clear stamps. When you are using thicker, rubber mounted cling with cushion stamps, simply remove the foam pad.

MISTI allows any crafter to create using a variety of stamping techniques that are more complexed and difficult to execute without a stamp position tool. The revolutionary design of the MISTI allows for productive perfection - even when completing mass production projects. Use the included magnets to hold your cardstock in place while stamping and the grid paper for precise stamp alignment. The MISTI is a tool that will save you time and money as you make professional looking cards that reflect your creativity.

  1. The Great Time and Paper Saver

    By Angela Bode

For me, the MISTI lives up to its name: Most Incredible Stamping Tool Invented. The MISTI is a fabulous tool for the paper crafter! The MISTI makes it incredibly easy to create multiple cards of the same design. It's fabulous for precise restamping on slightly textured paper and makes stamping with large background stamps a snap. The MISTI isn't a tool I use occasionally, I use it for every stamping project.

The MISTI is a great time and paper saver. Before the MISTI, I tossed lots of paper due to crooked sentiments or partial inkings, but with the ability to precisely position paper and stamps along the grid, I can reink the image and stamp again in the exact spot to achieve a beautifully inked image or sentiment. Another thing I love about the MISTI is that the design of the tool eliminates those pesky ink lines that I would get when my hand slipped while using an acrylic block because the lid never comes in contact with the paper.

I love my MISTI so much that I hope I never have to stamp without it.

Tip: Use just one sheet of grid paper with your MISTI. Added layers will keep the lid from shutting completely which will cause incomplete stamping.

Tip: Remember to remove the foam insert when using foam mount cling stamps so that the lid will close properly when stamping.

  2. MISTI-eyed!

    By Jen Timko

Like many of you, I tend to be very particular on lining up images and sentiments. I hate to think how many things I have thrown away due to uneven stamping or stamping that was just a little big off. But this is a thing of the past! I know….it almost brings a tear to my eye to consider that I don’t have to sacrifice my time or paper anymore. MISTI…the Most Incredible Stamp Tool Invented…lives up to its name. This simple, but brilliant, concept ensures that your images and sentiments have the perfect placement every time. Uneven inking?? No problem. Just re-ink, stamp again and your problem is solved.

The best part about the configuration of this new MISTI that I received is the thought put into the packaging. My Sweet Petunia has made sure that everything you need for success is right in the box. Magnets, foam, grid paper and, of course, the MISTI tool. And the new MISTI has laser-etched grids so there is no risk of it fading with use.

I used my MISTI to create some cards that use masking to start. The exact placement every time means that your masking work goes really fast and can be repeated for multiple cards. Next I played around with generation stamping. I inked my image with a variety of colors, re-stamping each time, to create a beautiful color variation. Because the image lines up perfectly every time, this goes really fast and there is no chance for misalignment. Finally, I gave MISTI the ultimate test. A perfectly symmetrical card. I generally don’t make these because the symmetry is so hard to get and I get way too frustrated before finishing anything. With the MISTI, I leave the stamp in place and slide the paper. The alignment is absolutely spot on! WOW!

Whether new or experienced as a stamper, this stamping tool will help you to get so much more joy out of your creative time!

  3. My Sweet MISTI

    By Teresa Kline

"The most incredible stamp tool invented." That is what is quoted on the home page of My Sweet Petunia, and I am here to say I totally agree! The etched MISTI is beyond amazing, it makes stamping so fun! I love to run my hand over the etching - it is gorgeous! I feel like a pro. I can stamp over and over again on the same image and not have offset lines. It is a one and only tool for getting those super dark sentiments or edges on your images.

You can group flowers, scenes, and sentiments and have them turn out perfectly. Because you place the stamp where you want it before you ink it up, there is less margin for error - genius idea! I have found that it is best to stamp on a larger piece of paper and then die cut it after stamping. The magnets are super strong and will break (I know this first hand...lol) so keep them separated from each other.

I find myself using it for most of my stamping needs. I can honestly say the MISTI is "the most incredible stamp tool invented." It makes stamping fun and satisfying.

  4. A Tool for All Techniques

    By Robin Clendenning

First things first, I would like to say how the MISTI lives up to its name...totally the best invention for stampers.

I like using the MISTI to be able to make multiple impressions of the same image or sentiment because one impressions is NEVER black enough to look really good, especially on a background done with some technique already... To get good coverage you must stamp more than once and the MISTI makes it possible to do that without over-stamping smudges.

The MISTI helps me find a perfect alignment for sentiments or accent images. I can place my stamp on my project where I want it to be, close the lid of the MISTI, picking up the stamp on the acrylic surface and then because of the gridlines, I can see if it is straight. The gridlines help me make minor adjustments, as necessary.

I have also used the MISTI lately to do multiple colors for a solid stamp. I could do one color at a time and never have to worry about placement.

Another way that I have enjoyed my MISTI lately is to over-stamp an image that has been stamped once and colored. Yes, scary, but it looks fabulous! When I color, I first stamp with Memento black and color with Copic Markers, but Memento black is NOT black enough for my preference. After I color, I put my image cardstock back into the MISTI and use the same stamp inked with Versafine Black and repeat the impression. Wow, what a difference, and now the image looks so sharp and crisp!

Finally, I use the MISTI for exact placement when I do a scene of some kind, like the Fairy Lights card I made on Saturday. I was able to pre-place all of my images on the card front without the burden and time of using a stamp aligner. For example, I was able to place my fairy toe exactly on top of the mushroom with no errors or open spacing.

The MISTI has been helpful to me in many stamping situations. Yes, it's the most important stamp tool invented.

  5. Single Card Maker No More

    By Janelle Stollfus

I’m plagued with making one-of-a-kind cards and literally only one. I can prep with the best of them, but come assembly time they will always looks completely different. It’s really a creator's block. So when I saw the MISTI product I was more than intrigued... would it be the same as my other stamp positioning tools?

No, it’s better! When this miracle machine with improved etched grid lines and informative packaging arrived, I did a little cheer for my multiple card making days ahead. This precision stamping tool is ready to use out of the box, no more vinyl protection panel to apply, is well built and possibly more precise with the super magnets that are included.

I tested with cling rubber, cling mount rubber and photopolymer stamps. The latter are pieced together to customize an image that needed aligning edges precisely. I added perfectly aligned sentiments last without fear of messing up the whole project, stamping over an edge in two steps so there is no gap in the image and stamping multiple projects that look exactly the same, almost what you would see on the shelf at a store. The MISTI has changed everything to cherries on top with my stamping frustrations. It is a staple in my stamping process now.

Where can it be purchased?  I hope not to pay more than. $17.95

Gay FerlandFerlandw   |  Wed Oct 21, 2015 at 4:30 AM

MISTI can be purchased at My Sweet Petunia. There is a link on the upper right of this page, as well as a Splitcoast coupon code in the banner ad underneath pricing that can be used today and tomorrow.

Lori   |  Wed Oct 21, 2015 at 5:30 AM

would you recommend Misti when you use a lot of non-clear Stamp? You can’t really see where the image will be stamped. In this case I would use the stamp-a-majig. I would love to see a video-tutorial using those kinds of stamp grin
best regards and happy stamping

Jasmin   |  Wed Oct 21, 2015 at 6:59 AM

Jasmin - that is what the second video shows - MISTI with red rubber stamps. smile

Lori   |  Wed Oct 21, 2015 at 7:04 AM

Thank you Lori,
and sorry I haven’t realised the second video. Wow, I really guess I need one grin I hope they will send to Europe

Jasmin   |  Wed Oct 21, 2015 at 7:10 AM

No problem, Jasmin! I’m a visual learner, so I had to see the videos, too!  I have been using MISTI for several months, and I am very happy with my purchase. I’ve used stamp-a-ma-gig for years with some success. But, now I’m actually putting sentiments on my cards again. I’d quit using sentiments on card fronts because inevitably I would ruin a pretty card design with a crooked or half inked sentiments. There are dozens of other videos in the MISTI forum - the link is just under the second video on this page. smile

Lori   |  Wed Oct 21, 2015 at 7:29 AM

The MISTI is a brilliant tool!  I admit, I was skeptical because of the price.  However, it is now my go-to tool and I could not stamp without it.  It has saved me *so* much frustration and has made stamping that much more enjoyable. (I was never able to do the re-stamp thing, and I hated cling stamps that I couldn’t see through - MISTI made all of that super easy to achieve beautiful results).  I already have two, but I’m tempted by this rare coupon code!  LOL….It’s hands down my favorite stamping tool, both for everday one-off cards and for mass producing.

Amanda   |  Wed Oct 21, 2015 at 7:36 AM

Yeah you’re soooo right grin Thank you Lori and Amanda.
And YES, I know the problem very very good, having a beautiful stamp front card and ruining it with an awful sentiment placement.

I guess you all from USA. I’m a little bit afraid shipping it from your lovely country to Europe. A lot of investment when it might get lost.
Does anybody from Europe made some experience with it?
Happy Stamping
Jasmin

I have to chime in here…save your money and buy this product.  I hesitated for months.  Then I took the leap.  It is totally worth the money.  Seriously!!  In my mind, it is as if the Fiskars Stamp Press and the Stamp-a-jig got married, had a baby which produced the MISTI.  In the past, I would work on a card then absolutely dread when it was time to do the inside sentiment.  Also, it is fabulous when you want to stamp an image in dye ink and then stamp it again with VersaMark ink in order to heat emboss.  Since neither the paper or the stamp moves, it is perfect every time.  Yes it is pricey, but it is so worth it. Consider it an investment in your art.

St Louis Snowmom   |  Wed Oct 21, 2015 at 8:16 AM

I tried to download the transparency grid (MISTI), and it says….“page cannot be found”.  Please help.

Carolyn N.   |  Wed Oct 21, 2015 at 8:28 AM

Hi Carolyn - It comes right up for me - maybe it was just a connection issue - please try again.

lydia   |  Wed Oct 21, 2015 at 8:55 AM

I absolutely love my MISTI, and it is worth every dollar I spent on it. I purchased four magnets and am VERY careful to never have two in one hand (two “love” each and other and stick together). If they do stick together, be sure to SLIDE them apart (not pull, which will never work). I purchased mine directly from Iliana at MySweetPetunia and received it quickly, and it was less expensive than the online stores. There is a whole forum thread with everything you need to learn about it and lots of videos. And I printed my own grid on the InkJet printer transparency sheets (and printed it on the rough side). Works like a charm, and I can’t imagine living with out it now. And talk about making mass-produced cards - wow!  Everyone keeps on coming up with new ideas, and Iliana is an absolutely wonderful inventory and vendor. She stands behind her product and is a wonderful person.  Thanks, Iliana!  You have invented the most wonderful tool so far this century!  LOL!  Hugs!

OK I give up….I’m trying to order your fabulous MISTI…..still cannot find the coupon code!!!!

lydia   |  Wed Oct 21, 2015 at 9:51 AM

I have two of them and I cannot begin to stamp any more without them. Right now one is set up for placement on 220 birthday cards for a ministry at our church.  This is why I have two - one is always set up for something!  Just finished the inside of our Christmas cards - 90 of them.  Last year I was so frustrated because I couldn’t get the verse straight that I typed it up and printed it on my computer and layered inside the card.  NOT THIS YEAR!  Every verse is perfectly centered, straight and stamped vividly!  Cannot say enough about this tool.  I don’t have the etched one, so I put cling on both sides of the lid to keep them both clean.  Viva La MISTI!  smile smile

ShariW   |  Wed Oct 21, 2015 at 12:23 PM

I changed my mind. I do NEED it.

Shannon   |  Fri Oct 23, 2015 at 12:07 PM

MISTI is the best and most practical craft purchase I have ever made. Taking the exchange rate and shipping into account, the cost is the same as me walking down the street and buying 14 Copic markers.

The packaging of MISTI is the best I have ever seen, which is great for international destinations.  Brilliant product!!

Susie Williams   |  Fri Oct 23, 2015 at 8:21 PM

Yeah, you convinced me all and I’ve ordered it already…..can’t wait now grin
@Susie sad about the 14 Copic markers wink I just started to collect them…...but Christmas is around the corner.

Jasmin   |  Sat Oct 24, 2015 at 12:30 AM

There is nothing in my craft room I like better than my MISTI. It really lives up to its name. Just think, it would be awesome to open up one of these for Christmas. If I didn’t have one, it would be at the top of my list.

Brenda/Benzi   |  Sun Oct 25, 2015 at 11:40 AM

I love my MISTI! I saw some chatter here on SCS last spring, but didn’t really get it until I saw the videos online. It is a MUST HAVE. I wish it was easier to see all of the lovely creations folks have created. It seems like here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=all&si=mysweetpetunia&what=keywords

Thanks!

JJ / IndigosMom   |  Sun Oct 25, 2015 at 8:01 PM

I just finished the 220 birthday cards using yellow on one stamp and black on the other and they all turned out perfect!  Always had to restamp the larger “YAY” stamp and only a couple of times I didn’t get the card back perfectly in the corner when it stuck to the clear stamps - just flipped it over and got a good one!  I wanted to post a picture, but this won’t allow!  It is pricey, but it is SO worth it when you look at the amount of card stock one doesn’t waste!  There are those times when one cannot fix a messy.
