  1. CORE-LICIOUS!!!

    By Mary Brown

Hi...my name is Mary and I'm a paperholic. If you can take that statement and put your name in there, then do I have the PERFECT product for you! Although I really like solid paper throughout, I love using white core paper to give certain projects and techniques just that little extra. Well...Core'dinations has taken the white core concept even further and has produced several different lines of paper with different toppings and different cores. Check out their complete line on their website. If you are a paperholic, you NEED to have some of these papers in your stash.

Their cardstock is a nice texture on one side and is relatively smooth on the other. It is a nice weight so when crumpling or sanding, you really don't have to worry much about tearing - it was made to take these techniques! My very favorites of their line are the Whitewash, Vintage, Chocolate Box and Black Magic. The reason I liked these the most is that it gave me the biggest contrast when I exposed the core. I used the paper with my Impressabilities™ plates and then sanded after running through my Wizard™. I put inside Cuttlebug™ folders and run through the machine then sanded afterwards. What total FUN! Then I decided it would be fun to do the grid technique by stamping first on the whitewash paper, adding the grid with my Scor-Pal™ and then sanding the lines made. OOOOOO!!!! You REALLY have to try this!

I did try doing it from the backside and found it didn't work - at least not for me. I had taken a piece of the Black Magic cardstock and wanted the yellow up and black dots coming through. The core of the paper is very thick and I couldn't get that to work. This is not a problem, it was just something I wanted to try to see how it would work. Maybe I needed 'rougher' sand paper...didn't have any around though.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this paper! One of the other things I really like is their commitment to green...they use a manufacturing process the created 80% less waste and reprocesses excess materials. Green is my favorite color!

  2. Make Room for More Paper

    By Ashley Newell

Core’dinations is a versatile cardstock. With the cardstock, you can apply many techniques to receive different results. You know a great product when you can get many uses out of it, especially if it is just paper. Dry embossing works well with Core’dinations. After embossing, simply sand and the core of the cardstock is displayed. The great part about Core’dinations cores is that they are unique colors as opposed to the typical white or matching color of the cardstock. The results are an amazing two-toned effect. Tearing is another technique that shows off Core’dinations well. After tearing the cardstock, you reveal the coordinating core and can drastically make an impact simply by tearing. I also found that distressing and wrinkling the cardstock works well to create a vintage style. Last but not least, the cardstock is double-sided; one side is textured and the other is flat. So, using the cardstock to stamp on also works well.

The quality of Core’dinations is great. The cardstock is 12" x 12" and the perfect heavy weight to apply to any paper crafting project from cards to paper gift template designs. The cardstock is offered in a wide variety of colors and themes. My personal favorite is the Chocolate Box collection because I really like working with brown and add pops of color and this collection caters to my style. Just to top things off, Core'dinations offers a Dust Buddy to help you keep your work area clean after sanding your paper. This is such a great idea, but the chemicals are a bit strong if your nose is sensitive like mine. Regardless of the scent, my work space is clean and I like that they considered that. If you do not own any yet, make room in your stash for more paper because it is different than any other.

  3. Paperlicious

    By Beate Johns

I love paper. I love the smell, I love the feel, and I love to just touch and collect it. Core'dinations cardstock makes me happy. It's a wonderful addition to my precious stash.

It has two different sides, one side is smooth, the other has a canvas texture. It's gorgeous and it feels oh so good. smile This sturdy 80 lb. cardstock is perfect for boxes and other 3D projects.

Core'dinations comes in lots of different colors and collections and it has a wonderful surprise inside, a colored core! The top of the cardstock has a strip with the color of the core so you know what colors will be revealed when you work with it. My favorite collections so far are the Chocolate Box, which includes brown cardstock with colored cores and the Whitewash collection, which is a white wash finish with a soft-colored core.

I love to distress my patterned paper and now I can do the same with this gorgeous cardstock! It is a lot of fun to emboss the cardstock with embossing folders, texture plates or Impressabilities™and then sand the embossed part to show it off. You can tear the edge to show off the core or simply sand the edges. I can't wait to create a grid with my Scor-Pal™ and sand that, or try a crimper and sand the crimped lines. I know you will have a lot of fun trying to come up with new ways to expose the core of this paper in a new way, too.

  4. Get to the Core

    By Rose Ann Reynolds

We all know about white core card stock, and the different effects you can achieve with it. Core'dinations kicks it up several notches with the core being different colors! This card stock is also textured which adds to the richness of this yummy paper. I love all of the different collections to choose from and the assortment of colors (something for everyone). My favorite collection right now is the Whitewash Collection, as I love the weathered look you can achieve with it. I also love the look you get with embossing then sanding the design!

I think the weight of the paper is perfect for whatever your use may be. It's heavy enough for a card base and 3-D projects, and at the same time is flexible enough for your antiquing and distressing.

All of that sanding and distressing can cause a bit of a dusty mess. No problem. Just grab your Core'dinations Dust Buddy, and clean up is a snap. Be forewarned, though, odor-sensitive and nursing/pregnant women, the cloth is embedded with some kind of strong solvent.

Like many of you, I am a cardstock collector. I am certainly thrilled to have added core'dinations to my collection.

  5. Delicious Paper!

    By Jeni Allen

The Core'dinations paper is delightful to work with! As a paper loving person, I am always excited to find beautiful paper, and this paper fits the bill! For those of you that are paper lovers like myself, Core-dinations paper FEELS wonderful. I love how this paper has texture on one side and then is smooth to the touch on the other side. The paper has a colored core, so when sanded, or torn, or distressed the colored core is visible.

I'm not really the sanding type, but was so happy with the results of how the paper looked after being sanded! I found that just giving a quick run over with my sanding block really enhanced the color of the paper I was using! The paper all "coredinates" very well together and is easy to use. I really love using the Core'dinations for a card base! It is fun to have a card that is one color on the outside and another shade on the inside!

This paper is perfect for using the Impressabilities™ or Nestabilities™ from Spellbinders. I loved the look of the Impressabilities images being sanded--it really helped them stand out. I'm sure I'll make this paper a staple for use with my Nestabilities and Impressabilities!

  6. Idea Sparking Cardstock!

    By Beate Johns

My name is Angel and I am a Paperholic. I really am!
I have to admit, I LOVE paper. So, when my package of ™ ColorCore Cardstock arrived, I was truly in heaven.

This cardstock is revolutionary! I have really never used another like it. It sparked ideas and really got my creative juices flowing. There were even some great project ideas to be found on the packaging.
The colors were a delight and a rainbow of variety in each pad! Some of my favorites came from the Vintage collection with its marbled appearance.
I found the weight of the paper to be ideal. It was heavy enough to serve perfectly as the card base, but also worked well for layering purposes. I truly enjoyed the dual dimension of the paper with one side SO smooth and the other a canvas-like texture.
So far, my favorite thing to do with the cardstock is what the company refers to as antiquing. I crinkled the paper (just wadded it up), smoothed it out and hit the highpoints with a sanding block. This markedly brings out the core color in the special collections like Black Magic, Chocolate Box and Whitewash.
It’s really quite therapeutic to rip, tear and sand your projects. And when I was done making my mess, the company’s special tool- the “Dust Buddy” helped pick up all the stray dust and residue. I was caught a little off guard by the chemical smell of this dusting cloth, but found it very useful in cleaning up.
I was very happy with this product! And I will soon be increasing my collection of colors in Core’dinations™ Cardstock.

I have this paper.  It’s wonderful.  I put some
chipboard words under the card stock and then sanded it.  It shows it on the back cover of the chocolate paper.  Came out great!  I think people will really enjoy playing with this card stock.

Betty   |  Wed May 27, 2009 at 8:00 PM

About a month ago I discovered this paper and went wild.  I purchased so much my sister worried I was becoming obsessed with paper.  So I went and bought her some too - after all, she is the one who introduced me to card making in the first place.  I love it.
In addition to “So Mod”, “Nostalgia” and “Elements” I also got a pack of “Black Magic” - I haven’t tried the latter yet… I will have to think about what I will do with it yet.  What fun to look forward to!

The description of this paper says it’s smooth on one side.  Is it the kind of smooth that you’d use for stamping?  I don’t like to stamp on a textured surface.  Can anyone help me?

Lori   |  Fri Feb 4, 2011 at 11:40 PM

HI Lori -

The smooth side is smooth enough to stamp on. smile I’ve stamped on the textured side, too, and had great results. I think that chalk inks work great with this paper. Enjoy ~
