Q: Spoiled Grandma wrote: "I would like information on doing a card with the distressing technique."
A: There are several different ways to distress your cardstock.
- You can distress the cardstock edges. To find out more about this, check the Ask Beate Question in this newsletter.
- Use walnut ink or tea to stain your paper.
- Crumple up, then flatten out your cardstock, then sponge over the folds to create an aged look.
- Sponge your cardstock. You can find more information on sponging in this newsletter.
- Use your ink pad directly on your cardstock. Swipe the pad over the cardstock to create a distressed look this way.
- If you use patterned paper, try sanding it. The white of the inside of the paper will show through.

Feedback From Past Tutorials
Kathy has a suggestion for the acetate card: "I would start at the very back of the card and work myself to the front of the card. This seems like it would be easier to line up layers that are getting a bit smaller each time you work your way to the front."
