Our Artist in Residence answers your questions
Q: Lynda asked: "There are a lot of cards using the cloisonne method. I'm not sure how it is all done, and would appreciate info on this technique. Thank you!"
A: For faux cloisonne, you will need to go through glossy magazines and collect pictures with big areas of one color (like sky, flower with big petals). Stamp an image on dark cardstock with Versamark™ and emboss with gold, then set aside. Take a cutout from a magazine and stamp and emboss the same image in gold as well. Now take another cutout (different color) and repeat the process. Last cut out pieces from the embossed magazine images and tape them to the image you embossed on the dark cardstock. Check out the gallery for samples.

    Feedback From Past Tutorials
Cammy has a tip for the Gamsol Magic Technique. "You can substitute baby oil (for those who are sensitive to the chemical components found in linseed oil or gamsol) and any other coloring medium; you don't need colored pencils. Crayons have the same properties as colored pencils, so try those!"
