Our Artist in Residence answers your questions
Q: Kathy asked: "I love the Ghosting technique. However I have tried hundred of times and failed. When I start to roll my brayer on the cardstock, it appears to be stained. It was not blending the dye ink smoothly, resulting in the background being a disaster and the Versamark™ images being totally covered by the dye ink. Please help."
A: Are you using glossy cardstock? If you are using glossy cardstock and are still get blotchy, not smooth, coverage with your brayer you could try sponging the ink over your cardstock instead. I love Distress inks because they are water based, but stay wet a bit longer than most water based dye inks - they are perfect for sponging and brayering.

If your "ghost" image doesn't show up, you might want to check your Versamark™ ink pad. It might need to be reinked.

    Feedback From Past Tutorials
La Fonz has a suggestion for the Stained Mosaic tutorial: "I attached the rubber scraps to a piece of heavy acetate with double sided tape. Then I attached the acetate to an acrylic block with removable poster tape. This way, I could save the rubber arrangement to easily use another time.

I used bare rubber scraps but your tutorial using scraps on sticky foam gives me the idea to run bare rubber scraps through a Xyron™ and then attach them to the acetate."
