Oh my GOSH. This is terrific. I feel special. Other people have actually put my cards in their favorites.......WOW. Love the new feature.

LOVE it! Another example of "ask and you shall receive!" I had seen where a member had requested it a while back and voila! here it is.

Gotta also agree that it was pretty cool to go through my gallery and see how many people had favorited different things.

Just for the record and on the other hand...I've known some crafters to be as elitist and as exclusionary as any other group. "Keeping score" does just that for an entire array of people i.e. individuals who are just learning or are new to this arena, vulnerable, insecure, and/or shy individuals who feel safe in displaying their work and now may feel inadequate due to "favorites game" being played. I do not have a favorites list and yet, my comments regarding others' work displayed here are most certainly sincere!

I agree wit cottonwoodlindy. I'm not a big fan of this type of thing. I left a forum because they had "reputation points," which I found totally ridiculous. Other members were able to add to you rep. points - if they liked you. How silly! JMHO.

Comments are nice, but not everyone has time to comment on each card they look at. I know I don't but would love to. I put a lot of cards in my favs without leaving comments. I feel being favorited is a nice, if not better, compliment. It made my day to see some of my cards were favorited. Thanks for this new feature.

This is so cool!! Thank you for adding this. I think a lot of times people (including myself) add a card to their favorites but either forget or don't have time to post a comment. This will show how many people really appreciate your card! I've already looked at mine...I have some that were saved as favorites that I didn't get many comments on. I must have done something right! lol!!

I didn't even know I could save cards to "favorites"! I've been saving them in a folder in my docs! I will have to start using the "favorites" instead so people know how much their lovely work is appreciated!

I wasn't going to respond, but some of the concerned feedback made me change my mind. First off, WAY COOL BEANS! Secondly, for the skeptics: keep in mind that the "favorite" count is so teeny tiny small, and there are no repercussions or rewards for a card being "favorited." It's not a primary part of the page or the gallery. You really have to look for it. It's really not much different than displaying the number of page views (aka "hits"), which SCS had been doing for some time now, so I don't see the big dealio. It's not like anyone is going to be shunned because their cards haven't been added to X number of people's favorites' list.

I know I've always been kind of curious if other people like my work or not, and since taste is personal, I won't get offended if they don't. (It cracks me up, in fact, that MY favorite things I make aren't the ones that have the most favorites counts in my gallery - usually some random "accident" gets more views and favorite counts than the ones I pour my heart into. LOL.) More often than not, I add something to my favorites rather than post a comment, and looking at my gallery, it's clear I'm not the only one who does that.

Like others, I favorite more than I comment, so I'm glad they will now see that I love their cards! I am such a copy-cat/CASE-er/Inpsired stamper (and give credit when I do this!), that I was so shocked that I had been favorited! I think I'll find my most favorited cards & make more like that to give away to friends!

I like it too. I was very shocked to see how many times some of my cards had been favorited. Like Chef Mama above, I'm very much a copy cat.

I don't think that it will deter any new stampers. I favorite all kinds of cards, I may not like the entire card but maybe the colors used or the layout or whatever. It will give new stampers something to aspire to. I know it boosted my self-esteem and will make me try harder to improve my techniques.

I don't think it is in anyway a popularity contest. Just a little pat on the back.

I know if I commented on everything I would never get off the pc! I try not to spend to much time as it is and it is so hard with this wonderful site!!!!

When you say the word favorited do you mean the number of views?

Favorited is a new running total under one of your card in the gallery. Take a look under one of your cards (or anyone's) and you'll see something like this under their avatar.

I have read or skimmed through the comments above and feel that the wonderful crafters/artists who submit their work need to know another perspective on what viewers might be thinking. Personally, a comment is my highest form of flattery although I am usually remiss in submitting a comment. I am impressed with most of what I 'view' and would spend so much time in repeating the wonderful comments already made...sorry. What you don't know is what I spend on printer ink to support my vast paper resource of outstanding examples of creativity that I print out every day. I view and print out the work I admire and keep a paper file of my 'favorites.' If you are looking for recognition, I think keeping a count of your 'views' is more important. That is the count of people who were impressed enough to get a closer look...the number of people are taking time to appreciate your work and looking for ideas to improve on their own work. I have never saved favorites at this site...I view them, take time to appreciate them, keep notes on the ideas I get from them, and print them out. I thought that is what a 'gallery' is for and this one has the added bonus of being able to make a printed 'copy' to keep. Thank you for ALL the wonderful work on display that contributes daily to the success and fun we, the viewers, experience.

I think this is so cool, and I'm always amazed at what techonology can do! But I want all of you talented people out there to know that I'm not very good at comments, and 2007 didn't improve that! Better at viewing!
And I have bookmarked many of my personal favorites' galleries, like mytime and starofmay, and just visit them directly to see what those amazing people have been up to! I like so much of their work that it's easier than saving their individual works!

It was nice to go through my meager gallery and see much of my work that was saved to others favorites! Thank you. But I, like others above, save to my computer pictures vs favorites here. So this is not a true total reflection of interest. I agree that views also tells us a lot.
