Business Directory Listings

A Splitcoaststampers business listing is a fantastic way to share your paper crafts store with our community. To buy a business listing, you must first register for a Splitcoast account. If you have already have a personal account, we request that you make a separate username for your business.

Step-by-Step

  1. Step 1

    To create a business listing, you must first purchase a business listing subscription. We offer three different listings: Basic, Premier and Platinum. You can read about the features included with each listing on our business directory info page.



    Once you've decided which listing you would like, continue to our payment page by selecting the PayPal button.

  2. Step 2

    Use the drop down menus to select your listing type. You can choose between a quarterly or annual subscription. Click "Order" to proceed to the confirmation page.

  3. Step 3

    Confirm that you have selected the correct options, than select "Order Using PayPal". From here, follow the PayPal instructions to complete your order.

  4. Step 4

    Now that you have purchased your subscription, you can set up your business listing. Go to the business directory by clicking on the "directory" link at the top of the page.

  5. Step 5

    Click on "Manage Your Listing" at the top right of the directory screen.

  6. Step 6

    Fill out all of your business information here. If you have a Premium or Platinum listing, you can also upload a 728 by 90 pixel image banner.

  7. Step 7

    Select your business specialties using the check boxes. These categories will help members find your business. When you have selected all the relevant categories, hit "Save Listing" to publish your business listing.

Resetting Browser Cache and Deleting Cookies With Safari

    Click Safari, and choose Reset Safari from drop down menu.

  2. Step 2

    Click the check boxes next to Empty the cache and Remove all cookies.

  3. Step 3

    Click Reset.

    Click Tools on your browser toolbar.

    Click Clear Private Data.

  2. Step 2

    Click the check boxes for Cache and Cookies.

    Click Clear Private Data Now.

    Click Tools on your toolbar.

  2. Step 2

    Click on Internet Options from the drop down menu.

    Under Browser History, click on delete.

    On the next screen, click Delete files next to Temporary Internet Files, then click Yes on the popup.

    While on the same screen, click Delete Cookies next to Cookies.

    Click on tools on your toolbar.

  2. Step 2

    Click on Internet Options from the drop down menu.

  3. Step 3

    Another menu will appear.

    Under Browser History, check the box that will delete browsing history after exit.

    Click on delete.

  4. Step 4

    On the next screen, check to delete history, cookies and temporary passwords.

    Hit delete.

Embedded Links in the Forums

Turn words into a "hyperlink" so that people don't see the long web address in your post. We'll show you how in a few steps.

Step-by-Step

  1. Step 1

    Open a new window with the page you want to link to (here, the SCS Fan Club page).

    Highlight the URL (the webpage address) using your mouse.

    Copy this link with your mouse (for PC: CTRL + C. For Mac: Command + C).

  2. Step 2

    In your forum reply box, type the words as you want them to appear.

    Hint:
    If you do not see all those little icons when typing your reply, please click here to find out how to change your Edit Options.

  3. Step 3

    With your mouse, highlight the words that you'd like to have "clickable."

    Here, the SCS Fan Club has been chosen.

  4. Step 4

    Click the globe with a chain link icon.

  5. Step 5

    A small window will pop up.

  6. Paste the already-copied link into the blank field.

    (PC user: CTRL + V. Mac users: Command + V.)

    Click OK.

  7. Step 6

    There you go! You've created a hyperlink!

  8. Step 7

    Click on Preview Post if you want to check it out before you post your reply.

Registering as a member

To post messages in our forums or upload to the Splitcoaststampers gallery, you must first register wirth a Username.

Step-by-Step

    There are a few places where you may register and join our community.

    On the home page (left hand side):

  4. And if you click on "login" on the top right hand corner of your screen you will see this:

    And, no matter where you are on Splitcoaststampers, you will always see "join the community" in the top right hand corner of your screen.

  6. Please note:
    In certain forums you may post without being a member or without signing in, but your post will appear under the username "Unregistered" and you will need to answer a question.

  7. Step 4

    Once you've clicked on on of the options above, you'll need to read the Forum Rules and then check the "I have read, and agree" box. Then click on "Register".

  8. Step 5

    Next, you need to choose your User Name. You may want to choose a nickname or pseudonym rather than using your own name. Please do NOT use your email address. You will also need to choose a password and enter your email address. You'll need to repeat your password and email address respectively to make sure there isn't a typo. You will also need to answer an easy question (this is to help prevent spammers).

    Note: Please choose your User Name carefully, as we will only change your User Name if you wish to go from your real name to a pseudonym, not from one pseudonym to another. To request that we change from your real name to a pseudonym, please send an email to: help@splitcoaststampers.com, and we'll help you!

  9. Step 6

    Specify your Time Zone

    Unless you're in the default Time Zone, which is Pacific Time, you will need to click on (GMT -8:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada). You will see a list of all the world wide time zones from which to choose. This way whenever you see a "timestamp" on our site it will be relative to where you are located.

  10. Step 7

    Click on Complete Registration and you're done! This is what you will see:

    After your first visit, you may need to log in by clicking on "login", found in the top, right-hand corner of your screen.

    Enter your Username and Password. Please check the box Remember Me if you're on your own personal computer. DO NOT check that box when you're on a public computer (such as the library or at a friend's house).

    Note:
    If you are not logged in, you will only be able to post as an Unregistered user in certain forums and you'll notice certain things will be "missing", such as Stampin' Up's Mini Catalog & Previews Gallery. You will then get this message:
    "It appears you do not have permission to view this category. Please feel free to contact us if you believe you have reached this message in error."

Uploading Your Profile Picture

Profile pictures are small pictures of yourself that are displayed on your user profile.

Step-by-Step

  1. Step 1

    Find a photo you would like to use. You will probably have to crop (resize) it using your computer's photo editing software.

    The maximum allowable size of your custom image is 320 by 240 pixels or 64.0 KB (whichever is smaller). You will want to save it as a JPG/JPEG file, and your image resolution should be 72 pixels/inch.

  2. Step 2

    Click on Welcome, Username on the top right of the screen.

    Hint:
    You have to be logged in to see the site greet you like this.

  3. Step 3

    You are now in your User Control Panel. Click on Edit Profile Picture (left-hand side).

    Scroll down and click Edit Profile Picture.

  4. Step 4

    If you want to use a picture from your computer, click on Browse.

  5. Safari users, click Choose File.

  6. Step 5

    Click Save Changes and your Profile Picture will appear in your SCS Profile. You're done!

    Follow these same steps if you want to change your current Profile Pic.

    Note: When you make changes to your Profile (or changes to your Gallery uploads, for that matter), it takes the site a bit of time to "index" the changes. It's like to when you return a book to the library; it takes a bit of time for it to go back onto the shelf.

  7. Step 6

    Whether you're browsing the Gallery or the Forums, you can view someone's Public Profile when you click on their name, then View Public Profile.


Uploading an Avatar

Avatars are small images that you can add to your profile. Your avatar will be displayed below your username on all posts that you make.

Step-by-Step

  1. Step 1

    Find a photo or small image you would like to use and crop (resize) it using your computer's photo editing software.

    The maximum allowable size of your custom image is 80 by 80 pixels or 15.6 KB (whichever is smaller). You will want to save it as a JPEG (or GIF) file, and your image resolution should be 72 pixels/inch.

  2. Step 2

    Click on Welcome, Username on the top right of the screen.

    Hint:
    You have to be logged in for the site greet you like this.

  3. Step 3

    You are now viewing the Control Panel.

    Click Edit Avatar (located on the left-hand side).

  4. Step 4

    Click Use Custom Avatar.

    You may now choose to either use an image from a website, or from your own computer (most people do this).

    Use Option 2 if you want to use an image from your computer, then click on Browse.

  5. Safari users, click Choose File.

  6. Step 5

    Click Save Changes and your Avatar will appear on all your posts and in your Profile.

    Follow the same steps to change your current Avatar.

    Note: When you make changes to your Profile (or changes to your Gallery uploads, for that matter), it takes the site a bit of time to "index" the changes. It's like to when you return a book to the library; it takes a bit of time for it to go back onto the shelf.

  7. Step 6

    To quickly view your SCS Profile, click on Quick Links (top, right-hand corner), then My Profile.

Joining Usergroups

    Click on Welcome, username to go to your user control panel.

  2. Step 2

    In the control panel, check the left hand side and click on Group Membership.

  3. Step 3

    You will see all our usergroups and the joining conditions for each group. Click on Join Group next to the groups you want to join.

    Click on Join Groups on the bottom of the list.

  5. Step 5

    State your reason for joining that group.

  6. Step 6

    Click on Send Request.

    If there is additional information needed, our volunteer Group Moderators will contact you as soon as they can.

    Type your email address into the blue box at the top right of the home page.

  2. Step 2

    If your newsletter isn't arriving every Wednesday, check our trouble shooting hints.

    The hints are located in our Newsletter Archive.

    To get there first click on resources on the top right of the screen.

    On the Resource page, click on Newsletter.

    It will bring you to our Newsletter Archive.

    The trouble shooting hints are located on the right hand side of the Newsletter archive.

    Follow the hints, and if those don't work, you will need to sign up with a different email address.

Edit Options

Learn how to expand your options when editing your profile and posting to the forums and gallery.

    If you can only type in black and this is what you see when you reply in the forums or edit your signature,

  2. follow these steps to get additional editing options.

    Click Welcome, Username on the top right of the screen.

    Hint:

    Click Edit Options (left-hand side of the Control Panel).

  5. Step 4

    Scroll to the section titled Miscellaneous Options at the very bottom of the page.

    Choose Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) Editing.

    Click Save Changes. The next time you reply to a thread or edit your Signature, you will see all the Option icons.

    Hint: Hover (place) your mouse over an icon for an explanation of what it does.

Edit your Signature Line

After you have registered, try adding a signature line. This bit of text will appear automatically under all your posts.

    Click on Welcome, User Name on the top right of the screen.

    Hint:
    You have to be logged in to see the site greet you like this.

    This will bring you to the Control Panel.

    Click Edit Signature (located on the left-hand side).

    Type your signature in the box. You can change the font, the size, the color, etc of your signature with all the little options you see, just make sure to check our Terms of Service first for some guidelines.

    Hint:
    If you cannot see all the options, check the Edit Option tutorial.

    To change the color of part of your signature, use your mouse to highlight part of the text.

    Then click on the uppercase A with a black line underneath it, and click on the color you'd like.

  6. Step 5

    Click Preview Signature to see how it will look.

    Click Save Signature below the text box and you're done!

  7. Step 6

    To include a link to your Splitcoast Gallery, click Edit Signature from your Control Panel.

  8. Note: Firefox users, your Signature should now look like this:

    Open a new browser window, and go to your Splitcoast Gallery. Copy this link (for PC: highlight then CTRL + C. For Mac: AppleCommand + C).

    Hint:
    To get to your (or anyone else's) gallery, type
    splitcoaststampers.com/go/
    then your username (see the image to the right)
    in the address bar and press Enter.

  10. Step 8

    Type 'My Gallery' in the Signature box.

    Highlight the text 'My Gallery' with your mouse. Click the Earth with a link icon. A pop-up will appear asking you for the web (http) address.

  11. Step 9

    If you've copied the link, paste it in this box.

    If not, type
    http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/go/yourusername
    and click OK.

    Firefox users, your Signature should now look like this:

    Click on Save Signature and you've successfully edited your Signature and included a link to your Gallery.

    Hint: Follow the same instructions to add any link to your Signature line.

Fan Club Subscriptions

Learn how to check the expiration date or renew your Fan Club subscription.

    Click on Welcome, Username on the top right of the screen.

    That will bring you to the User Control Panel.

    Scroll down and click on Paid Subscriptions.

  3. Step 3

    If you are a Fan Club member, you can check to see when your subscription expires and renew, too.

  4. Step 4

    To renew your Fan club membership or sign up for the first time, click on the arrow next Cost.

    Choose from 1/2 or a full year subscriptions.

  5. Step 5

    Click on Order.

  6. Step 6

    Click on order through Paypal.

    Hint:
    If you rather pay with a check or money order, check the bottom of our Fan Club page for a mailing address.

  7. Step 7

    If you have a Paypal account, log in on the right hand side.

    If you don't have a Paypal account, or prefer using your credit or debit card, click on the link provided on the left.

Logging in to Splitcoaststampers

Learn how to log into the site.

Step-by-Step

    Look for the "login" link at the top of any Splitcoast page.

  2. Step 2

    If your login information doesn't work, you will get this message.

    If you do get this message, check our tutorial on Password Recovery.

  3. Step 3

    Type your username and password in the respective boxes. Choose "Remember Me" only if you're on your own computer, not when you're on a friends' or a public computer. It will save your username and password and will log you in automatically next time you visit Splitcoaststampers.

Password Recovery

Forgot your password? Follow these easy steps to log in again.

Step-by-Step

  1. Step 1

    Let's say you've forgotten your password. (You may be at a friends' house and have always logged in at home and now you've forgotten your password.) Click on login, located in the top, right hand corner.

  2. Step 2

    Click "forgot your password?".

  3. Step 3

    In three easy steps you'll be able to reset and choose your new password. Enter your email address, the same one that you used to register with SCS. Then click on Submit

  4. You will briefly see this before you are redirected to SCS Forums:

    Check your email and you will see an email from Splitcoaststampers with the Subject line "Your login details for Splitcoaststampers".

    Your email be similar to this:
    (Note that your Username is also included, in case you forgot which one you had chosen. )

  6. Step 5

    Click on the first link (as per above) and you will see this:

  7. Check your email for another email from Splitcoastampers with the Subject line "Your new password for Splitcoaststampers".

    Take note of your new, temporary password and either go back to SCS, or click on that link to reset your password.

  8. Step 6

    You will then need to enter your Username and the temporary password. Check "Remember Me" only if you're on your own computer, not when you're on a friend's or a public computer.

  9. Step 7

    Next, you will be able to change your password to something you may easily remember next time.

    You are now logged in again and you're currently in your Control Panel and free to post or explore!

Deleting Gallery Subscriptions

Are you being bombarded with gallery upload notifications? Follow these easy steps to make them stop.

Step-by-Step

  1. Step 1

    Go to the gallery page. Check the left hand side and click on Profile.

    Hint:
    Make sure you are logged into the site, or you won't see the listings shown in this picture.

  2. Step 2

    Check the box next to the galleries and hit unsubscribe.

Editing gallery uploads

No need to delete or start over if you want to make changes to something you've uploaded to the gallery. Uploading a new picture, changing the title or description, adding keywords, all can be done in the Edit window.

    Jump into the gallery by clicking the Gallery link at the top of any Splitcoast page.
