I must say that there is a slight disadvantage to having bird feeders outside your window at 5:30 am!
With that said, I entered this challenge not knowing where I would go with it. In fact, I found myself staring into the pantry like one of my kids thinking "there is nothing in here!"
Then I saw the garlic and came up with the thought of tearing off the skins and using them as a flower.
These were first soaked in water otherwise they are very brittle. Then I painted them pink and set them aside to dry on a paper towel.
The bg is Baroque Motifs stamped twice, then I sponged the edges and added a few lines to, hopefully, give the paper a slight aged look to match the "paper" prima I had made. The center is a big round button. It actually has no garlic smell (kind of disappointted in that )I'm surprisingly happy with this considering just a half hour ago I was considering mashing cheerios for sand or something for lack of other supplies! Thanks so much for another great WT challenge and for helping stretch the mind!
Let me know what you think. TFL!

There's no -there's nothing in here to eat - concept with this card. I so applaud your creativity. How you ever looked at a whole garlic and saw a flower, and what a flower it is, is totally beyond my comprehension. This is fabulous and so totally beautiful in pink!

This is wonderful! Very creative! I hear you about the bird feed thing. We have two regulars I'd like to give watches to. One little Carolina wren loves to sit right outside the window. For a tiny bird, they sure have big voices. The other is an Eastern Phoebe. My fault, because I go out and whistle back to him. Now he comes looking for me when he wants to play. Love your garlic flower.

Martha, you have done a marvelously creative job here. Who would have thought to use garlic skins? Huh?! Apparently you did. Very clever idea with great results! Love it! TFS :0)
