Hi! This Mirror Project was made for today's Ways To Use it Challenge: When the Chips are Down....We were to use Chipboard... (And MFT's Guest Designer Challenge!)
Well...Coasters are chipboard in my book! So, I made these mirrors... These show BOTH sides of a project! (I had to make 2 since Mr. "We don't NEED another computer program!" won't budge...(I don't have a photo editing program to do picture in picture...)) This way, though, I get to keep one! LOL!
My girlfriend is leaving Corporate America and joining the SALES industry....So, I figured, what a great thing to go on her desk, right?
In case you can't read it one side says: "Don't Forget," and the other says: "It's a Jungle Out There!"
My friend is a true traditionalist...She LOVES old movies and "distressed" items. Her house has steamer trunks as end tables! Her sofa is old cracked brown leather that is so SOFT to lay on...So I distressed these for her!
Eleanor, Ellen the Elephant and Geraldine the Giraffe were all stamped in Basic Black onto Very Vanilla and colored in..
The ovals were cut with a Coluzzle.
The grass was stamped, torn, and then sponged.
The Coasters were covered with distressed papers (made by squishing up Creamy Caramel paper and then smoothing it and rubbing a Creamy Caramel pad over the distressing!), (see my blog on SATURDAY for the tutorial...) and I made the straps to with strips of distressed paper and attached them to the Coasters with Jumbo Eyelets.
