I love the rich look of this candle holder my SIL gave me many years ago. The entire piece is candle, but you put your tealight in the top so you don't ruin the actual candle! I love that!
Anyhoo, to create my card from this piece, I used Sahara Sand cs and did many things to it to make it look somewhat like the lower half of the candle holder. First, I did direct ink to paper with Close to Cocoa to dirty it up a bit. I then stamped French Script in Bravo Burgundy; Weathered in Cranberry Crisp; and Itty Bitty Backgrounds in Bravo Burgundy. I took my widest watercolor brush and burgundy reinker to then kind of *wash* the burgundy on top of this. I sponged Bravo Burgundy on the outer edges. I sponged Gold very lightly on top of the entire lower half.
I wanted texture on the top panel, so I used the Distressed Stripes Cuttlebug embossing folder and tore the cs. I didn't have any gold charms, so I used four large gold brads to simulate the charm on the candle holder. I used gold cs for the sentiment panel backed by the burgundy.
I tied my organdy ribbon around this entire panel before adhering to the burgundy cs and left the tails long as in the candle holder.
Thanks, Mothermark, for suggesting this idea for today's Inspiration Challenge!
