I needed to make a bday card for my SIL, whose bday is the day after Christmas. My requirements were to use this PP scalloped oval (leftovers from neighbor Christmas gifts when I decided to cut way down on the list), no pastels or anything too girly (SIL dislikes).
The color & sketch challenges again came to my rescue when I spied upon my wall this sketch & color challenge. And I HAD to make the cake strawberry because that is the #1 flavor in our house. (I'm the only exception...I prefer chocolate.)
The cake was stamped on Whisper White in Timber Brown Stazon & watercolored w/Purely Pomegranate, Chocolate Chip & Bordering Blue inks. I added Fun Flock to the icing to give it some texture. Cut it out w/my CM oval cutting system, matted it to the PP Giga Scalloped Oval, pierced & highlighted w/white gel pen.
The base is Purely Pomegranate. The bottom panel is Sahara Sand which was embossed w/the Cuttlebug Textile Texture embossing folder & matted w/Whisper White. The small panel uses the same colors. The sentiment was stamped w/Chocolate Chip ink & white snaps added on each end. Then I added the PP double-stitched ribbon around the panel. The main image panel was attached over that w/Dimensionals.
