My happy place. Desk is from officedepot.com; 8½" x 11" cardstock racks are from novelcrafts.com. Re-inkers are stored on old wooden spice racks. SU & other frequently used punches are in flip-open bins from The Home Depot. Wheel storage is from Walmart. **I used extra 6x6 page protectors to show what wheel is on what row. Each page is a row, I used the wheel printout on the SU site & cut & pasted wheels from the mini cattys.
Being in this room makes me happy, and when Momma is happy - EVERYONE is happy! LOL!

This is my fantasy! Question: How do you store your stamps? Mine are stored haphazardly in clear storage boxes. I forget what I have! Help Organizing Queen!
This room is fantastic! Can you tell me where in Wal-Mart you were able to find the rack you are using for the wheel storage? Looks like a wooden rack of some type, would sure appreciate any info you can provide. Thanks so much, and thanks for sharing your great room!

Hopefully here are all answers to questions that have been posted here: stamp pad/re-inker storage is from rubberstampstorage.com. He custom made this unit shorter in height than his standard by removing the upper & lower molding of the unit so it would fit under the shelving nicely. I would order from him again in a heartbeat (for future craft pads....LOL).
distance from desk top to lowest shelf: 20".
Wheel storage is from Walmart in the sewing section, near the fabric. They were (originally) meant to hold spools of thread I'm sure, but I'd wager stampers are snapping them up faster than sewers! Price was under $10 each a few years ago; my mom actually found these & called me from WalMart sayin', "Hey honey I found something I think you might be able to use for all those wheels of yours!" Thanks Mom! They hold a lot of wheels, which is important since wall space is at a premium now. There is another pic in my gallery regarding wheel organization; pic is of the chart w/the wheel rack in the pic somewhat.
Identifying stamp sets: Some SU stamp cases are marked with a simple color dot system. These color dots can be purchased/found on the packing (think bubble wrap/large padded envelopes) aisle at Staples, Office Depot, etc. Blue means 'this box has a verse stamp in it that you might use', red means 'retired', yellow means 'hostess set', green means 'current mini catty set' (the old mini stamp sets occupy shelves in my guest room closet (upstairs) until the retired list comes out in May. I then add a red dot sticker if it retired/is not on the list or remove the green dot if it made it into the new catty.
Sorting stamps: I sort my SU stamps like this: cutsey, and not cutsey.
No, seriously: Asian, nature, floral, vintage with the 2-step stampin ones lumped together within the cutsey/non-cutsey rule. It is kind of like the big catty with divisions (and only I know where the divisions are - LOL!) but further divided between cutsey and not-cutsey! All SU stamps are in the cases they come in, on the white shelves. I used a labelmaker with a large font (black print on white tape) so I can read the set faster & easier. Verse SU stamps are on top of the paper punch (see desk)storage units on the gray office desk under the wall ribbon storage unit (think All Year Cheer sets, simple sayings, those kinds of 'verse' sets). This ribbon unit (one of three in the room) consists of white, wooden drapery supports (meant to support a decorative rod) and the pole through the center of ea.spool of ribbon is a driveway marker (for those of you in areas that snow you will know what I speak of) or steel dowel that has been cut to size with a hack saw. Other ribbon unit (see other pic) is discontinued from Hold Everything (holdeverything.com). I have pleaded with them to carry it again without success. Third unit is the 3-drawer iris cart under desk under ink pad storage.
Background stamps sans cases are next paper punch unit downward from verse stamps toward chair. Label that comes with the sticker is adhered directly to the side of the wood, all going the same direction - LOL! Quarterly Hostess sets are above my chair. I keep them close so I'll (hopefully but never seem to) use them more.
Wordsworth, PSX (miss 'em!) & other favorite, non-SU brands are in the stacked three bin drawers to the right of the window, or to the left of the white bookcases. These are stored like such: 3 drawers for verses, background, alphabets, plants/trees/leaves, shadow & holiday; misc, punch art stamps (from Make An Impression) & hearts, corner & borders/frames, animals, flowers, primitive.
My Melting Pots & all 'funkaaaaaaaey' equipment are in these 3-drawer bins (also from WalMart - $7.88 each a few years ago) there too. 'Funkaey' equipment includes but is not limited to (LOL!): mold & pour, utee, rainbow foil, frozen opals, vintage glass squares, bails that double as pin backs, cardboard squares for dipping into utee.......my hands are now itching from this chit chat & the stars are out.....I gotta go eat some chocolate & play now!)
I love organizing (when I was a young girl I used to organize my brother's drawers. He's the opposite of me...very, very messy) I also sort my, my DH's and my kids' hanging clothes by color too....and yes, I was toilet trained too early - thanks mom!
