I created this wonderful paint can with three of my *favorite* My Favorite Things stamp sets- Let's Go for a Walk, Say Charge and Falling for You. I made this to celebrate the release of My Favorite 48. Kim has hand selected 48 of the 132 Prismacolor Pencils to sell in a special promotional kit with added accessories. I cut A 12" length of watercolor paper to fit inside the can. I had to add an additional piece of about 2" to make it fit toally around the inside of the can. I taped really well from the back and it holds together very well.
I stamped all three images across the complete length of the paper so that there was something cute to look at no matter what angle the can is sitting. I sketched out a tree with my artist pen to go along with the girl in the big pile of leaves. I then used a large dry watercolor brush and stippled on gray ink to create a sidwalk across the complete scene. I wanted to give the appearance of all the people out shopping, walking their dogs and out playing in the grass along the same walk way. I painted all the images with markers, pencils and reinkers. I added greenery for texture and some fall colors for the fall scene. I used Itty Bitty BG to add some texture to the sidewalk and painted in some sidewalk lines and added little patches of grass growing up in the cracks. I sponged the complete scene with banana along the ground lines and added some ruby red sponged over the fall scene to keep the fall colors toned down for the pink and black theme of the can.
I cut out a scalloped border from black paper with my slit punch to add to the can as it is the signature of Kim's blog and store site. I glued this border to the top of the watercolor paper. I cut a small piece of black for the bottom to complete the finish of the can. I rolled up the complete length of the paper fairly tightly to get it placed in the can. When I let it go it popped into place easily. I used glue dots to hold the two ends together inside the can. I added bright pink ribbon with white polka dots to finish my project. This was so much fun to do.
