CC110 Emily gave us the choice of two color combinations. 1) Cool Caribbean, Basic Black, White
or 2) Rose Red, So Saffron, Elegant Eggplant.
These colors yelled 'flowers' at me. I started with some designer paper that was close in color to Rose Red. It has some saffron highlights too. I challenged myself to make this card without adding green.
Purple leaves? Sure! The ornamental plum tree outside my kitchen window is blooming and sending out leaves. The whole tree is purple. The flowers on my tree are actually light purple, not Rose Red, but the tree helped inspire this card. This is why I name it 'Plum Blossoms', even though there are no colors named 'plum' on this card.
The layout of the card came about because of my limited stash of embellishments. The only ribbon that matched these colors was some printed grosgrain ribbon. The ribbon itself is a nice purple, but the printed pattern is blue. I could not tie a bow because the printed part would show. So, I made the sentiment panel into a slider.
