I'm teaching a couple classes this week called *It's All in the Details -- The Little Details". This is one of 3 cards we'll be doing.
This is nothing new or exciting -- I have uploaded many Cuttlebugged cards in a similar style with the ribbon being the main focus in addition to the embossing. But with wedding season approaching, thought maybe they could use a wedding card, and besides, I just LOVE to make wedding cards, especially now that I have a Cuttlebug -- so fun!!!
Pearl Ex is applied over the embossing to give it a nice shimmer and Vanilla Craft is dtp'd on all edges to *finish* them off.
Editing to add -- sorry everyone -- I'm getting PM's like crazy asking how to get the Pearl Ex to stick -- I should have said in the first place -- please forgive me -- I just skimmed the surface of the card with Versa Mark and then brushed the Pearl Ex on with a soft brush, then wiped off the excess with a Swiffer cloth. After that I dtp'd my edges with Craft Vanilla -- HOWEVER, it would have worked better had I dtp'd the edges first.
Another way to get the same result, which I have done before, is to skip the Pearl Ex all together and just skim the surface of the card with a Brilliance pad in a pearly type of color -- that works great too -- actually a bit easier, omits one step.
Thanks for asking -- sorry I wasn't very thorough the first time around!
