This is for color challenge 105 and fits with yesterday's technique lovers challenge 107 to do a scene card. I love Long-Time Friend. It is a gorgeous set and can be made with so many different colors combinations. The minute I saw the color challenge I knew this was what I would use. It works so perfectly for the rust, olive, saffron, chocolate and caribbean. The watering can is a watercolor dream to paint. I love adding a rust and aged look to the can and the saffron was perfect for it. I use a perfect dry brush lightly dipped in reinker and just softly brush it where ever I want the rust. I actually use my heat gun on a little spot of reinker in the lid to dry it a little and thicken it. If I get the brush too wet it looks all smudged instead of aged. After painting the rest of the image I used a sponge dauber to apply the chocolate ink and then the olive for the ground area. I used IBB for the dirt and watercolor minis fern for the greenery. I sponged the complete background with saffron to highlight the scene. I thought the seeds packet, gloves and frog from Garden Pleasures(retired 2001) would be so cute as embellishments. I also used a clay pot from Little by Little(retired 1994). I popped up the frog and pot of seed packets and partially popped up the gloves. I love the brown gingham ribbon that I purchased from SweetMissDaisy's Ebay store.
