The inspiration for this card was quite unexpected. I was just sitting in my stamp area, wanting to stamp, but not getting any ideas. Then my sister said "How about a snow card?" and all of a sudden "Shaker!" popped into my head! I don't know why, I have made many snow-themed cards this season, but none were shakers.
Anyway, I looked at my new Hero Arts Christmas set, and got the idea to use the snowman as the base, and the snowflakes for the acetate for a fun layered effect. The snowman was colored with Prismacolors and Gamsol, and the snowflakes simply stamped with White Stazon onto the transparency. Clear glitter is the shakeable ingredient.
The edges of the shaker and the edges of the card were sponged with White craft ink. The snowflakes on the shaker piece are Dress it Up buttons, held on with a glue dot. Doodle lines are hand-drawn. The holiday sentiment is half an Amuse sentiment (the full sentiment is Holiday Sparkle). I just used a marker on half so it would fit in the frame. Finished off the sentiment with joy from Small Script.
This is not the best lit picture, but it is snowing today, and the sky was overcast. I would have waited for a sunny day, but I work days, and I don't have another day off until Christmas.
