A momentary departure from my use-up-already-cut-into-designer-paper personal challenge so I could make this card to send to my son. Squirrels just like these -- brown with gray tails -- scatter the leaves outside his patio door. No fresh sheets of designer paper were harmed in the making of this card.
The background is wet paper watercoloring (see the tutorial in Resources--techniques). I did it on watercolor paper, then watercolored around the leaves, too, and overstamped the whole background with Creamy Caramel Canvas. I made an extra leaf the same way, but without the Canvas, and cut it out and mounted it on dimensional tape. The Chocolate Chip card base was wheeled in Craft Vanilla with the Dry Brush wheel. I also finally made a photo corner per AmyR's explicit instructions (see Resources--projects).
This Forest Friends set was a birthday gift from my good friend, Linda (labullard). I mentioned to her that I regretted not getting this set from one of last year's minis. It was truly beyond the call of friendship that she sent me her own meticulously trimmed and mounted set. Thank you so much, Linda! It will be well loved!

OMG, Leslie! This is the perfect guy card. And what a fantastic coloring job on the squirrels - including that dreamy watercolor wash background behind them. Now, for that leaves wet paper watercoloring! WOW! So beautifully done with that Spectrum pad, and the Canvas overstamping adds such nice texture. I love the dimensional leaf, the raffia touches, and those pewter brads work so well here on that photo corner. This card is a wonderful promotional piece for SCS's Resources! Well, I knew you would do this set justice, and this is such a fabulous start! Who needs flowers, right? :o) Your son is going to love this. TFS. Linda
