I went last Friday to have two scopes done on my stomach. Everything went fine, however four hours after I got home, I was in immense pain and went to the ER. After some tests, they admitted me to the hospital in Rolla (about 25 miles up the road from Ft. Leonard Wood and where I had had the scopes done). I have been in the hospital since about 2 am Saturday morning. I didn't get to eat for nearly 3 days and then went on an All Liquid Diet. I had Acute Pancreatitis. I lost 8 lbs the last four days. I am home now, and still a little uncomfortable, but not in any real pain. I have been but on a Vegetarian/Non-Fat Diet for the next 8 weeks. The doctor told me that my iron was so low I was on the verge of being Anemic and that my body was about 5 quarts low on blood! wow. I had bought some stamp sets from a fellow SCSer and they arrived on Saturday. My husband brought them to the hospital along with some ink pads, blender pens, cardstock, trimmer, adhesive, etc.. I made cards and gave them to the nurses that took care of me and a lady who came around with a cart that had magazines and puzzles on it that they gave out to patients. I took pictures of these two cards with my cell phone, so I apologize for it not being the best... I gave one of these to a nurse that walked with me last night while I was hurting from gas pain, she held my hand and put her arm around me and made me feel so much better. I gave her the Happy Everything card. Thanks for looking and reading my novel.

Wow you sure do make great 'lemonade' out of what seemed to be very tart lemons. I wish you well and a quick and speedy recovery. I went septic (at 25!!) and had to have my gall bladder out...and still remember all the wonderful and caring nurses that helped me! And the horrible, horrible gas pressure...glad it all worked out. And of course you're husband is amazing, knowing what to get you! Mine wouldn't even know where to start...he would probably bring me everything I had just to make sure.
