This is basically a CASE of notimetostamp's gorgeous Noble Deer card where she CASED the layout from Chantel: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers And I loved how Bridgette shaded around the deer on her recent cards. Thanks, ladies! I've also been wanting to do a card with the colors from Color Challenge 73, and this is the first time I've used the twill tape - the twill tab idea is from 11Valerie11.
I love making faux suede paper with liquid applique. This was done using a piece of lightweight brown paper bag, crumpling it up a couple of times, loading up the brayer with brown liquid applique on wax paper first, and then brayering the brown paper until it's thinly covered. (NOTE - wash your brayer off immediately!) It's kind of a dark brown at this point, but when you hit it with your heat gun it turns a nice creamy caramel color and has a wonderful soft suede texture. It can be stamped with permanent ink. I used Creamy Caramel craft to stamp the Pine Needles & Cones background, but it's very subtle and hard to see in the scan. Perhaps Stazon Saddle Brown would produce a crisper image. The deer layer is on dimensionals.
This is for my brother's birthday, who is an avid hunter. The card is 5.25 inches square.

Linda, this is absolutely gorgeous! Did you use a reinker to dye the Liquid Applique or does it actually come in brown. This is such a perfect card to give to a hunter.
