Jacqueline is leading this week's MMTPT/tea party challenge in honor of my dear friend Theresa.
Theresa experienced the loss of her husband a few months ago, and more recently, her high school sweetheart, who was a cherished friend to both of us and our families, also passed away.
I love that Jacqueline thought of how things seem darkest before dawn - such a lovely thought holding the promise of lovely things in the future.
I hope this painting looks like dawn - it looked like sunset during most of its creation. I think I saved it with a good scrubbing of Sapphire ink....I watched this very lovely YouTube video to create it. I recommend watching it even if all you do is listen to the artist and the music because just listening to him made me feel calm:

You found the artist's voice calming but it's your stunning watercolor that does that for me. There is so much peace and tranquility expressed here. And that simple sentiment says it all and perfectly finishes the card. I have no doubt Teresa would love this card; but knowing it came from a dear friend who created it just for her certainly will add to its meaning. What a stunning keepsake you have created just for her. And, as you've said about many of us here today, your heart is on full display as well. Fabulous job, my friend. Hugs.

Sometimes I get so frustrated that I still can't see any videos linked here on SCS - but then I don't have a lot of time for watching them so it's mostly not a big deal, just your description sounded so interesting. That is one beautiful watercolour, very peaceful.

Your painting, inspired by the promise of dawn after darkness, beautifully captures that sentiment. It's wonderful how art and music can offer solace and calm during difficult times. I will have to check out that video when I have a bit of time.
