It is my pleasure to be your hostess in the Color Challenge this week. I have chosen some wintry colors: Blueberry Bushel, Azure Afternoon and Silver. The dessert option is SNOW.
The focal point of my card is this nifty 2-D folder that dry embosses the pine trees and cuts a circle for the moon. I cut this using Blueberry Bushel cardstock; and then dipped my fingertip into the silver paste, and ever so lightly ran my finger over the embossed trees and the raised edge of the square. I mounted this over a square of silver foil.
Continuing with the mixed-media theme, I sprayed a piece of watercolor paper with water, and then with Distress Oxide sprays in Prize Ribbon and Salty Ocean. Left it overnight to dry thoroughly, and then splattered with droplets of white calligraphy ink (which doesn't pick up the spray colors). Cut the words from Blueberry Bushel and the shadows from Silver cardstock. Mounted all on a panel of Azure Afternoon and then onto a white card base.
I'm hoping to see some lovely wintry cards in the gallery this week. Please join us and share your creation in the gallery for us all to admire!
