I made this card for this week's Teapot Tuesday Challenge. This week, the cards are going to our very own SCS DonnaJeanne who lost her dear husband just before Christmas. Donna sent me a Teapot Tuesday card during Christmas week which just speaks volumes to me, and is very humbling knowing she did this while grieving a very recent loss.
This is the first card I have made in nearly 3 months and I have forgotten how to stamp! But, I am getting the hang of it again. The gingham panel is stamped with a background stamp so all the purple is perfectly matched. This is the first time I have used this stamp set and it has a bit of a artsy feel to it because the stamp layers do not line up perfectly. I was surprised by this, but I am getting used to it now.
My heart truly goes out to Donna Jeanne, and I am so glad we are sending her lots of paper hugs and love this week. Thanks for hosting this wonderful Teapot Party Susie and thanks for looking today. ~Karen.

Beautifully done, my friend! Love the layered stamping and the gingham stamped background. The stitched lines add a lovely touch. The scalloped edges are excellent. Love the sentiment! Wonderful card. Hugs!!!

The bg gingham is fabulous - it really has the look of fabric that makes me want to reach out and touch that card. I actually thought you had watercolored the flowers - ( I, too, am learning to appreciate that look but 70+ years of programing and being told to "color inside the lines" is a hard habit to break!~)

Love all your matching purples. You've picked right back up with your stamping ability here, Karen :0) Gorgeous irises. I like the artsy way the color doesn't line up too. I just love the way all of us teapotters stick together!

Karen this is gorgeous!!! I love the straight rectangle with the scallop one, that is really neat, and the checkered dp looks like linen. Your flowers are the best and colored perfectly!!! A work of art!

I looked at your background stamp and thought how beautiful, and I realised I have the same one but I don't think I've ever managed to get it to look so like real fabric, which yours does. I always like the look of sentiments stamped in colour, but it's something I rarely thinking doing myself. It's lovely to see a card from you, Karen; I hope it means you were having a good day.
