It's TeaPotter Swap again...Jeannie (Luv2grdn) has brought us the challenge of combining watercoloring and doodling! She gleefully calls it 'Dipsy Doodling'. Sabrina (Cook22) has brought us a marvelous video highlighting the technique!
I am also entering this card in the Inspiration Challenge this week. Stef (SmilynStef) asked us to be inspired by a cake maker who happens to create AMAZING art with flour, sugar, eggs! My card is a tribute to her many cakes. I must have flowers.
I must admit the dipsy doodle was just a 'bit outside my comfort zone'! I did have the video playing as I followed her instructions (I even taped my WC paper to a glass mat). Of course I expected I would turn out something close to the gorgeous panel! NOT! But I will try this again, definitely. However back to wondering how I was going to turn this into a card for the swap...there was a small bit of loose flowers on the panel that I thought, oh these are pretty GOOD, I know what I'll do...I'll put them on the artists' canvas...like she's painting them. It' will be a small scale dipsy doodle. Now that's my story!
This Stamp Francisco woman artist is a fantastically detailed image. I dabbed her brush in the hot pink and added liquid pearl drop on her palette for the dabs of paint. I fussy cut the panel and discovered 'my' flowers were so exuberant they were escaping the bounds of the canvas! This revealed my sentiment...follow your HE{art}. I masked the follow stamp for just the words I wanted and used the Making Memories type written letters for the art.
As I was deciding on the layout of the card, I thought...well, we should ALL follow our heart and that is why I stamped the Altenew little hearts along the right side of the card. A few fuchsia staples and here is my dipsy doodle!
Thank you for all our creative challenge hostess! It's those nudges that lead to adventures in our art.
