Lisa has a lovely Teaparty this week for a dear friend and wonderful Splitcoastie - Angie aka Sunshinesense. The great outdoors is our theme.
If you are thinking this card looks familiar, you would be right. We had a teaparty last January for "Aunt Betty". I wanted to use the same Psalm and my brain went into auto pilot and before I knew it this card couldn't be any closer to Betty's card if I tried.
The background was made by smacking distress ink onto aluminium foil, squirting on heaps of water then mopping up the inky water with a foam blending tool and scrubbing on cardstock.
I did the grass first, then Using post-it notes I masked the grass and faintly stamped on some little trees. Next step was to sponge on the sky using the same method. I added a bit of pink through the tree line.
To get a bit of texture in the sky I lightly used a the flat side of pencils and added more blue, pink and orange. The pointy end of pencils was used on the grass.
Because I wanted the fence to appear behind the big tree, I drew it on first using a white pencil, then went over it with a 0.7mm Posca paint pen (best white pen ever). I then stamped on the big tree.
The weirdest thing happened, as everything was drying the fence appeared to be in front of the tree trunk. I've gone over the trunk with a pencil, but it still looks like the white fence is on top. I need to do a bit of experimenting.
I lightly stamped the background with a text script stamp, followed by a gazillion liquid pearls and a hint of gold Stickles in the little trees. Finished with stamping the Psalm.
I hope our cards bring lots of sunshine into Angie and her beautiful families day. Thank you for looking.
