I hardly ever make a one layer card, but this one was such a complicated scene that I felt any embellishing or layers would take away from it, rather than add to it. This is a special edition of my snowman and penguins illustration that I did for Whimsy, which is being used to teach a colouring class at Kit and Clowder.
I used the liftable tape to carefully tape down the sides of the card to give myself a "border" so that I would end up with a clean, crisp white border. I get the tape at Staples where they sell tape. Even though it is liftable, it does leave a residue that I have to erase off afterwards. But it worked to make a nice white border around the image.
I coloured my illustration with Copics first, and then I added some Prismacolour pencil colouring on top of the snow in places. I also made it snow a bit with the use of a white gel pen.
I entered this into the Christmas Challenge for September, in which you had to use trees, snowy outdoor scenes, or a Christmas tree!
Thanks for looking!

Oh my word . . . YOU are totally amazing! This is absolutely stunning and I agree with you, less is more, any embellishments would take away from the beautiful work you did creating this one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
