This week's Ways to Use It challenge was to get out an old stamp that I love and use it. The Wild Rose stamp set came out in 2006/07 and I've had the set since about that time. I loved it when I saw it but I don't use it much because it is wood mounted and two step which means I have to use the stamp-a-ma-jig to layer up - or guess and that usually doesn't go very well. Of course, I'm not always the best with the stamp-a-ma-jig either! As a matter of fact, I stamped this up and had finished it when I decided I wanted to darken the big rose. I didn't get it lined up perfectly so what you see here is the opposite side of the paper or attempt #2.
I used an old, but loved, ink color too. Sadly, I think my Orchid Opulence is drying up. I stamped the big rose, masked it, and stamped the leaves. Then I stamped the greenery for the base of the buds and the buds. I heat embossed the sentiment. After that, I realized that there were some smudges of ink on the card so I splattered it with watered down Orchid Opulence and Garden Green to, hopefully, mask the smudges. I sponged the edge with Garden Green and then layered it with a very thin layer of black, adhering it all to an Orchid Opulence base. I also added some Nuvo drops and Wink of Stella here and there.
I still really love this set. I need to get brave and un-mount my wood mount stamps!
Thanks for looking.

Love your spritzed ink bg with this gorgeous oldie but goodie...your two-step stamping is great...love your choice of colors. (You'll have to microwave-peel off that rubber and use a MISTI...works great...no more wood! Can you tell I'm not a wood fan :-()

Catherine, I missed this beauty when it went through the gallery so I am glad I am finding it now my friend. This is STUNNING! Truly! I loved reading your journey making this card because I have been there with this very same set. I am putting this right into my favs because I am going to have to CASE this one of these days. I can tell I do not use my orchid opulence enough because I was shocked that this was the color you used- it is gorgeous. I wish we lived closer together because I would share some orchid opulence re-inker with you. I am glad you hung in there with this card because it is so beautiful and so inspiring my friend! ~Karen.

That orchid color is so pretty...using the black matting makes the roses look quite dramatic! Love the nuvo drops and your splattering, which is one of my favorite looks! Beautiful card~
